better wait until official launching. i want to sell mine already due to call clarity problem.
*
even after the official launching it's still the same phone..
both zitron and avaxx already start selling the phone before the official launching.
it's not like on the day of the launching there will be a new authorised distributor selling it with all of the problems fixed.

so far the common known problem of the phone is the earpiece problem right?
which is can be fixed pretty quickly...
other than that i think the phone is working great..

don't let 1 problem which can be fixed easily deter you from buying it...
it's not like the phone is totally malfunction, cannot click here and there etc
the way some people react make it like the phone is totally malfunction.

Any1 had sent their phone to Care Centre to fix the earpiece problem? How long did it take? How they fix the problem (bend or unbend?) Which Care Centre?
I'm thinking of fixing it myself using the Russian way, since I'm a techy myself (not phone, but general), yet still hesitating...  sweat.gif Scare later break something and things get worse...
*
you can try tighten the screw at the back first or press the earpiece part a little bit...
no need to take out the front cover..

the first solution is no brainer..anybody can do it.. nod.gif nod.gif
for bend/unbend solution you better send back to nokia care

yeah..."slightly" higher...like when n95 got out initially? but quality wise, i think it's worth it
*
for rich people, rm3k phone is nothing but for me i won't buy rm3k phone because i simply can't afford it no matter how good it is...
i'd rather buy a new laptop than spend 3k on mobile phone.

only DiGi support EDGE...

3G is 3.6mbps

3.5G is 7.2mbps.
*
actually maxis also support EDGE in some areas but it's a back up to 3G, not primary..
MAXIS in my kampung only support EDGE so far.

same with CELCOM also got EDGE in a very limited area.
i can testify CELCOM cell in my kampung support EDGE and 3G but no HSDPA, quite surprised me actually they put EDGE & 3G together, even in Klang valley they only support 3G/HSDPA and GPRS only..no EDGE rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Yup, have been running for weeks without a single problem. During the first few days of ownership, I ran into problem installing incompatible software but after I got things right, it has been 'on air' till now.  tongue.gif

I found out that it is 'almost' impossible to brick the phone. I found some procedures to flash the phone in dead or non-operating conditions using Phoenix provided you have the firmware package. The firmwares are distributed by Nokia to its service centers and are available in an installation package. The package will hold the base firmware, configuration for local telcos, etc.

Have yet to try it out  tongue.gif I thought of not wait for Nokia Software Update to update.
*
i have tried it...using both normal firmware update and brick phone update,,, both working fine...
it's good to know that we can fixed our bricked phone on our own laugh.gif laugh.gif
normally standalone firmware is available on the net much earlier than on NSU.
i would update to new firmware in no time once it is available on on the ne..
no need to wait for NSU:thumbs: thumbup.gif

but my heart stopped for a while when nokia 5800 is not available when i want to update from dead phone..if that's the case u have to search the phone using the code "RM-356" for nokia 5800xm

something happen today which was weird.. I was the lucky one because my 5800 did not have the ear piece problem..but i think i have some kind of firmware bug..

Today as usual i was receiving calls via my 5800..by the way i was in my car using the stereo headphones..to answer calls.. cos i havent got my bluetooth set yet. Anyways... suddenly phone goes berserk.. the phone start making noises like it goes haywire..like a sound like spoil robot.. u know..kinda like random digital noises..very loud indeed..me and my soon just look at each other and basically said WTF?????

it was damn weird.. i cant stop the sound either except opening the battery cover and removing the battery...

Yesterday also while my son was playing bounce the phone hang!!!

Anyone had a similar experiences..?  hmm.gif
*
so far never encountered with this 5800 but my old phone nokia 6110 sometimes has similar problem as yours biggrin.gif

i beg to differ
Not to say i'm helping Nokia out since it is misleading if you just read it at face value, but it did not exactly say you can download up to 1000 songs. it just say 1000 songs for you to download, which can easily mean 1000 songs for you to choose and download within your given quota.
*
i was at the launching..
if my hearing is working fine,,i can hear whoever that mat salleh said it comes with 1000 songs...
it's not a good marketing gimmick to trick potential customers with such misleading wordings on the package itself
