First and foremost, a disclaimer: this post doesn't mean to offense anyone here in this thread, neither the seller nor the interested party. i am merely sharing my thoughts.

I have owned not less than a dozen of Lacoste T-shirt and most of my purchase was done in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Fyi, Thailand has several Lacoste Factory Outlets and all are 100% original. Should you happen to be there, ask the locals where can you find one in town. Never ever miss the opportunity when you are in Thailand, especially in Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok.

Sorry for the slight diversion, now back to the story. When I first saw the picture of the Lacoste T-shirt posted in this thread (by the seller), I found a very obvious difference: the collar label. All my Lacoste T-shirts have no extra piece of label written 'Designed in France. Made in Peru. Model Code: XXXXX'. I have recently visited Singapore and bought a couple of Lacoste T-shirt, Italian Fit, size 2 from Takashimaya & Isetan. Please refer to the pictures below.

Second picture shows exactly how my collar label on my Lacoste looks like. You can visit any Lacoste boutique in Malaysia and have a look for yourself.

However, I am uncertain about the Lacoste T shirt sold at the rest of the world. It could be that the collar label is the same as what posted by the seller.

Just for sharing.

dude, no offense but please read every single word of my posting. all the pictures i posted were taken from my collection. in fact i already mentioned in my previous post that all these are for sharing purpose. why would i want to visit all the websites in the whole galaxy and make a posting here? why on earth would i want to conduct any survey? does it serve any purpose to me? no doubt i have been to Tokyo and Hokkaido but I won't buy Lacoste from Japan. To me it doesn't serve me any purpose as it is not cheap there. Not only that it will increase my luggage weight, i will even have to pay extra for the excess luggage. i would rather make space for Agnes B and Burberry Blue label because most of the Agnes B is produced in Japan and Burberry Blue label is only exclusive to Japan market.

correct me if i am wrong but i think you are too defensive and paranoid that you think i am trying hinder people from buying from you. ask yourself, am i a competitor to you? i even mentioned that i am not so sure about the collar label of other Lacoste produced at the rest of world. if you are selling original Lacoste, why would you afraid? Like what other said, you can even COD in front of any Lacoste boutique and should the buyer feel doubtful, just bring it into the boutique and ask the staff to verify the authenticity of your Lacoste.

the way you keep on attacking all the posts that you feel is not in your favour will just make you look more guilty.

again, no offense, just my 2-cent.

Bro, allow me to do the clarification. I am just sharing with other people in this forum my findings based on my current collection and I NEVER has the intention to jeopardize your business. Nevertheless, occasionally words can be so twisted that ones may misunderstand the real meaning and intention of the author. Thus, should I have created such an uncomfortable and offensive presence in this thread, my unreserved apologies to you.

After all, I am here merely to find people who share the same interest as I do in fashion.

So, cheer up dude.

I am attached to Lacoste in Malaysia. I was checking on the effectiveness of marketing for Lacoste in Malaysia before I stumbled across this site. I can't help but to read all of the 11 pages of posting dated since 2009.

I registered after reading and as you can see, this is my first posting.

I am here to confirm 100% with you that the products sold in here are FAKE. I am impressed especially with the RED collection that is sold in here as the crocodile is getting better but still no where close to the real product. The earlier products that was offered are of a lower grade fake. This can be clearly seen by the crocodile. The real Lacoste crocodile logo is definitely the "SAME" globally. I have seen fake crocodiles with wider mouths, shorter legs, tail closer to the body, some thinner croc and some fatter croc.

Of coz there are a few ways in identifying between a REAL and a FAKE Lacoste. I am not going to share all of them in order to protect the interest of Lacoste. But one of them, as posted, is the button itself. Real Lacoste buttons are made of Mother of Pearl. You can identify this by looking at the back of the button. Another way, that you guys may have not noticed, is that the 2 holes on the button are sewn vertically.

I also would like to confirm here that there should not be 2 tags, no matter where you purchase the polo. There is ONLY 1 tag, on the polo, wether you are buying in Paris, Istanbul, Rome, New York or Japan. Many fake still carry the made in Peru because that is where the first few lacoste factories were located. But it has since evolved. With the high demand, factories are now located everywhere in the world with QC personnel just like any other luxury brands.

In terms of pricing, Singapore is definitely cheaper than us as they do not need to pay duty. However, starting Spring Summer 2011, you will find that the prices has dropped by 15% to 20% in line with the PM's announcement on the abolishment of duty in his recent Budget. The signature basic polo, L1212 would remain the same at RM299. We would not be able to drop much on the pricing due to the increase of cost for cotton. If you had visited Ralph Lauren recently, you will find that they had just increased their basic polo from RM300 to RM450. I would also foresee an increase in price this year for Lacoste in Singapore due to the increase in cotton. However, the good news is that we are not increasing, but decreasing, thanks to the abolishment of duty. Therefore, our prices would be nearly the same.

Lacoste is now currently on Sale, from 30% to 50% for the off season products. Not many left though. The basic polo with old season colors are selling at 30% discount. Again, not many color and sizes left.

As for L!VE, this is a new collection that is a continuity from RED. L!VE would eventually stand by itself as a category apart from the Lacoste mainline. L!VE is available from Spring Summer 2011 onwards and would only be found in Lacoste Sunway Pyramid boutique.

As for Outlet stores, if you had been reading the newspapers, there is a joint venture project between Genting and Chelsea Group (not the football club) to build an Outlet Village in Kulai, Johor. Many of the international brands would have their outlet store in the Village which iis called Johor Premium Outlet. Lacoste would have its first outlet store there and it targeted to open in November 2011.

I hope this clarify everything. i can't stop those who wish to purchase fake Lacoste at a cheaper price, but I would certainly want to educate those who are unaware that these are FAKE products.

thanks for the clarification. i hope you could continue furnishing us with any new update pertaining to lacoste.

....and i can't believe that someone here was trying to convince us that 'high-end' lacoste comes with 2 tags (pls refer to the 1st few pages)....
