one obvious and easiest way to spot fake levis is the button at front...
every levis button should have number embedded at the back part of the button which make it looks out of shape..

err... there's a lot to see, but... this should be the easiest one

because since 2002,501 had diffirent tag,just product in malaysia..

for levis.. if u bought it in Malaysia.. try to see at the back of button.. there will be a triangle shape stamp.. its kind of number or alphabet.. i do not remember what it is..

my experince, 501 original from USA..the button write character and number like M if from mexico, italy, paraguay or japan write #

double check my gf button...seems like got number...
like it was "brushed" away...
checked on my engineered...totally flat n shiny...
pocket no logo no nothing...fake?its made in china btw...

The above picture is a fake 501. (one of the dude here selling in forum).

From the patch you can tell the horse (almost black) is like duplicated and the lines are not fine quality.

The second part is the belt stitch, should be on the line like this ==|_|== see below picture original 501.

yup.. ur levis is an authentic one.. basically for those who bought from oversea.. the tab should be showing the ID number of that particular jean..

a very thick skin type...
then da button certain doesnt have anything on it...
my engineered also nth on da button...

imo, for local purchase, the easiest shud be just by looking at the zip fly itself...if fake, normally it's with 'YKK' punya zip brand...if it's confirm ori, it shud read "Levi's" liddat.

if purchase from oversea, ori version normally there'll be bar-code-thingie number on the inner side of the jeans.

just my 2 cents.

hmmm i just checked my levis, yeah its written Levis.. are you sure the fake ones have YKK writings on them? nowadays these "fake" ppl quite advance lol..

My versace jeans have YKK writings on them. Don't know bout you all, but YKK zippers never failed on me. They're really tough!
