If you want the best of the best, CCCP is the best collection of filters out there to run virtually all video files.
And f00bar is the most customizable audio application out there so it tops the charts. |

QUOTE(JustAnotherPeon @ Jan 6 2009, 04:57 PM) Worst advice ever. Unless you have an iPod or iPhone, I wouldn't recommend it at all. It consumes a lot of resource even while idling and lags even if you have a lot of RAM. iTunes is also packaged with a lot of crap like Quicktimes and Apple Update Manager. If you really want Coverflow, Songbird can do that with plugins. |

QUOTE(xelnamikaze @ Jan 10 2009, 07:00 PM) yes .. another spamming thread .. why don't someone create a new thread with this title "the best operating system" Well it depends, some post here for the sake of post count and some just wanted to let people know their preferences on audio/video playback.Currently I'm using foobar2000 for music playback and Media Player Classic Homecinema (with some basic filters mostly from the CCCP, as well as Real Alternative) for video. I like the simplicity of both of these players in terms of interface and they have lots of features as well. |

For video I prefer Media Player Classic Home Cinema with vista codec package. Why MPC-HC? Because it has support Directx Video Acceleration, DXVA, which not available in any other video player.
