+1. In Asia, if you want the gurd stuff, source your own.

Wonder if these constitute 'nice' buttons:

Gshen, if you spend more time here you will someday come to understand that what he meant with "nice" buttons are those with the brand embossed into them.

He probably has no f***ing idea what those buttons you posted are about.

No cedar shoe tree, no vintage bespoke jacket, not even an iron frying pan. In their stead this vintage copper saucepan in 3mm thick copper with perfect tinning in the interior and a cast iron handle. I used to have such a saucepan but had to sell it on eBay because it weighed 4 kg and I couldn't bring it home with me. The buyer, upon receiving the pan, wrote back to me saying in essence: My God, what a pan!

Fine art in a metaphorical sense, where my budget is capable of at least getting me a passable quality product in that price range, not the Da Vinci's masterpiece you initially thought I were referring to.

If you're lucky, during G2000 sales you may just get a suit for RM600. Otherwise there are cheaper suits at Kamdar.

Jind86's list? Don't recall seeing any such thing. But if it existed, it would probably look like this:

1. Granoff
2. Lord's
3. Ruth's

followed by a secret tip

4. Wardrobe
Refer to the first post of this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=22577236

If you gents are willing to share your Mystery Tailors™ (I am looking at you, Loke-chai) for the benefit of other forumers, I will gladly add them to the list.

I know Lokechai's tailor. I was even there. But the display suit was as bad a Fox Tailor's (KLCC).

You can try Chicago Tailor in SS2. You can even buy credit for your pre-paid there. How convenient is that?

shirts sleeves @ cuffs-----most have double pleats, quite rare to have single pleat,,,,,the rarest is triple pleats / quadruple?

i was wondering if those pleats on shirt sleeves give a slimmer sleeve impression / eliminate pirate shirt effect-----------------

Nope not really. If you take your arms up, the sleeves ride down. It will help movement is you have forearms like Popeye. laugh.gif Its to accommodate the design of the shirt cuff being smaller than the rest of the sleeve. Using more folds can balance out the circle and gradually reduce the diameter of the sleeves ending to the cuffs. The more pleats used to balance the circle. If not, all sleeve cuff will be big and wide like a suit jacket. From what i know, french cuff was actually a designed to circumvent the puffy pirate sleeve effect. If you have seen very very early pictures of french cuffs, there are no pleats. And they are large almost filling the suit sleeves.

The pirate effect... Arrrrrrrrr eee mateys!!! laugh.gif No lar the sleeves will be bunched up if there are no pleats. So when bunched up, it would look like an onion bulb just before the cuffs. Look at the 3 musketters, Jack Sparrow, Zorro. hahah.

Hi guys,
I will be in KL early next year for a 5 day holiday and wanted to get a half canvassed/fully canvassed MTM or Bespoke suit made for under RM1500.
Ive been reading the forums and heard that Bespoke One is the best tailor in KL and is more expensive than Ah Loke. Can i just walk in off the street and get my measurements taken on day one, then come back 5 days later for the fitting (and then get the suit sent by mail after the 1st fitting adjustments) ? Or do i have to phone or email in advance and request an appointment?

hey guys i have some question here.. recently I bought a pair of jeans online W32 (I'm 31.. but decided to buy 1 size bigger anyhow for safety) but when the W32 arrived.. it fits more like W33+.. it was dam baggy and loose for me. I can solve the waist part with belt but the jeans is just too dam baggy I look like a clown lol.

So I wanna ask if I tailor it to fit like a w30 one or even slim fit.. would the jeans look awkward tho?

no experience on jeans tailoring so would like to ask for advice smile.gif

I have no experience altering the waist size. But altering the cut of the jeans is possible. A link to the pair tht u bought would be helpful.
