I prefer it without the collar i.e. just the band itself

Boys, learn to embrace new styles. This may work well on casual denim or linen shirts. I'm pulling the trigger.

hey guys,

I'm planning to get a blazer for my convo and I believe this is the right place to get help. I'm looking for a tailor shop that produces fine art with a reachable price range around pj area. My budget availability is within rm500-600 and pour as much recommendations as there are. Thanks

Buy your own buttons! Even better than the most high-end designer brand you can afford.

Fusionsex, maybe its time to compile a list of tailor shops on the first page.

Actually memento, there are lots of recommendations scattered around this thread, you'll have to do a search.

yeah been scrolling the last 10 pages of this thread but the topic flow is gearing towards pins and assortments. Came to some usual suspects such as Biwani and Ruth. Both of these shops seems like is cater for the high-end line. Correct me if I'm wrong aye.

"Fine art" at a "reachable" price (RM600, muahahaha) in PJ (wuahaha). "Fine art" at G2000 prices in your backyard? Sure. Go to G2000 in 1U. You won't even need to go for fittings that way.

And please read my sticky.

It will be interesting to wear the shirt with the band buttoned up in place of a neck tie. If one were to do the same with a collared shirt, one runs the risk of dressing like the President of Iran!!

Doesn't your statement depend on which tailor shop you patronize? Even if your tailor does not have nice buttons there is nothing to stop you from sourcing it yourself .

+1. In Asia, if you want the gurd stuff, source your own.

Wonder if these constitute 'nice' buttons:

Hi,

I have a couple of questions:
1. Refer to the attachment, what does this mean: 60"? I have also seen 120". Is this refers to thread per inch where the higher the number, the better it is?

2. What are the criteria you look for when choosing good material for trousers?

Thank you. notworthy.gif

Noted. I will see to it.

Kindly provide me with input on reputable tailors that you gents think I should append to the list that jind86 put up as I do not want to unwittingly add something like Chicago Tailor.

60" refers to the width of the cloth.

Fine art in a metaphorical sense, where my budget is capable of at least getting me a passable quality product in that price range, not the Da Vinci's masterpiece you initially thought I were referring to.

Jind86's list? Don't recall seeing any such thing. But if it existed, it would probably look like this:

1. Granoff
2. Lord's
3. Ruth's

followed by a secret tip

4. Wardrobe

You can try Chicago Tailor in SS2. You can even buy credit for your pre-paid there. How convenient is that?
