QUOTE(n_n @ Jan 5 2009, 07:41 PM) cool~ so you graduated already? nope.. not yet grad.. going to grad in 2 years. about the biomed to MBBS thing i also think it is possible from what i read in reader's digest.. i think other bio subjects also can let u continue to study MBBS if you are willing to sacrifices the years and have a good cgpa.. I also wanted to be a doctor last time.. but after watching my friends stress out with it i decided not to pressure myself too hard(or another way of putting it is i didn't do that well) for my stpm..

its easy to say lab based and research work.. that was the reason im fooled into taking biotech thinking there are jobs out there in malaysia... please give some examples so that ppl can really be sure..one of my probs after i graduate was, where the hell do i find those jobs?? cant really find any in jobstreet and usually they only want sales... Example that i can give is of course lecturer in any universitiesa but it will take up alot of years meaning ppl start working and marry and u still studying..then most research jobs ppl say are done in universities with little real research in private companies altho there are but few and im working in one of them...but it is still difficult to hunt for job if you do not have contacts or not much knowledge in this field

Both will enter government service in the same manner. But, graduate entry medical officers can have additional extension to their qualifications (if they wish), see below: Dr. XYZBSc.Biomed, MBBS (Bangalore), MRCP (UK)usually Dr. ABCMBBS (Malaya), MRCP (UK)
but thats not really important. The above is just for showing off.

QUOTE(f4tE @ Jan 6 2009, 07:19 PM) u mean when come back malaysia serve the country still need to work for government?? no exemption cuz u r not local grad? need serve the 4 years? That is a must for every fresh medical graduate. 2 years of internship plus 3 years of compulsory service in the government sector. Skip that and you will not be registered with the Malaysian Medical Council and therefore will not be permitted to practice in Malaysia. Alright, enough of medical talk, if you have further inquiries regarding that, you can post it in the following threads: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/889461http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/416477QUOTE(n_n @ Jan 6 2009, 03:53 PM) the work mostly labb base... research base... you can branch to forensics and teaching.. it's a quite a wide field to venture Medical Underwriter. Never heard of it? Here is a link to your question: MEDICAL UNDERWRITINGI was offered to be trained as a Medical Underwriter before by Kurnia Insurance. But I rejected it since I had other plans.

QUOTE(charles2690 @ Jan 7 2009, 10:57 AM) One thg i wanna ask is bout the salary range. i noe tht working in these kind of filed requires interest more than bout going for the money. but one shud also know whether these jobs will be able to sustain ur living cost n all. So i was just wondering how much would i be roughly paid? of course can sustain your living..even a bus driver can sustain living..depends on how much u spend...

QUOTE(n_n @ Jan 7 2009, 03:07 PM) i agree with f4te... but of course you need to like what you work.,.whats the point going work feeling unhappy... Well some people do work whether they are unhappy or not. Making the choice in the first place gives you right to have feelings for your work in the future. I know this because i have a love and hate feeling towards my previous job
