I'm not using kuro, me most of the time spent viewing on projector..

observation coming from spending time my own CRT 1080p monitor, own plasma, own cheapo pana LCD and also most recently from repeated viewings on mpyw's 50inch kuro...

I wish I was a master of PQ, but I'm not and have been wrong before. I am still learning.

Anyway, movies/films are normally shot in 24frames per second (24Hz). This is primarily done to save space. Most BD are mastered in 24 fps (technically it is 23.97 fps - this I am not sure why, a real expert needs to explain this). Thus when played back 24 frames are played back in 1 sec.

hope I'm able to chip in, not expert but was reading some explainations by sifus/gurus on the forums..

NTSC compliant recommends DVDs being converted to 23.976Hz for 24FPS film sources
why? cos NTSC is 59.94Hz/ 29.97Hz.

23.976HZ/29.97 is roughtly 4/5 hence able to do the pulldown effectively.

for HD (ATSC) resolutions, it;'s 24Hz /50/60HZ cos it's not NTSC..

Wanted to order some tittles from Amazon US, while going through the payment detail, I realize that Amazon had included "Import Fees Deposit" to Malaysia and it was not cheap. What is that? Never had this kind of charges from Amazon rclxub.gif

Guess buying from Amazon is not getting cheaper unless special promotion like BOGO doh.gif
