Best documentary so far for me, i have galapagos, but Planet Earth still better.
A lot of spectacular shootings from helicopter from space zooming to animals on earth surface.

And no narrator talking scenes, narrator stays behind scene
all the time, i like this.

AQ is not so great but it's ok for me.

Better review here: Planet earth Review

Watch "Street Kings" last night...

Wonderful PQ & AQ, 5 stars quality and lots of night scene to test your display quality thumbup.gif

Thanks to anfieldude who came to my place to calibrate my TV, now my TV really shines with all the details and correct color display.

Will post some b4 & After picture for you guys to see the result of the calibration. Pictures and more outstanding & 3D like especially on non-animation film thumbup.gif

Thanks again anfieldude notworthy.gif

It was a pleasure calibrating the set. At least now you are sure that what you see is what the director intended. Great grayscale tracking and very accurate colour rendition.

Unfortunately, it was calibrated in ISF mode and the settings are locked. If it was done in user mode, than settings can be shared. It won't be accurate but it will be close. It also depends on the AVR. Some AVRs alter grayscale and colour.

I need to try out a HD65 soon. Maybe bro myst_erious HD65.

Anyway, in my opinion for Blu Ray and DVD viewing calibration makes a difference.

What TV you using lar? Sounds complicated! Anfieldude can offer this service to us BD forumers? I have been trying to find recommended settings for my TV on the net but not very successful so far. For anyone who can offer this service, I don't mind paying for it. rclxms.gif

Depending on whether the set allows grayscale calibration and offers a CMS. All Samsungs LCDs from the 6 series have 2 point grayscale calibration and a full CMS. I believe the LGs have grayscale. Panasonic plasmas have 2 point grayscale but it is in the service menu. Pioneers offer 2 point grayscale in the user mode with limited CMS but 9 point gamma correction in the ISF mode! I believe the older Sonys offer grayscale in the user menu. Sharp higher end sets have grayscale I believe. I am not so sure of the the Toshiba sets. If your set has a RGB (gain/cut/bias/offset) in the user menu then it can be calibrated for grayscale. Grayscale calibration helps improve the whites/greys/black calibration, hence improving shadow detail and image quality/depth. It also improves skin tones. A full scale CMS will tame the colour points. Doing grayscale is the most benefit, since most displays have no CMS or poorly designed CMS.

BD is mastered in HD colour space Rec-709 and DVDs are normally NTSC or PAL. NTSC is SMPTE colour space. PAL uses PAL colour space.
Fortunately, the white (D65)/grey colour points are similar for all colour spaces.

Since I in Penang, it is difficult to officially offer any services. If more people are interested, we can talk.

Thanks

sweat.gif Boss, where got so many lah?

Actually, anfieldude was here last year end. Too bad that I couldnt meet up with him as I have other things to attend to. He went to one of our members' pad to test out the HD65.

Hopefully, there will be a chance again.

Btw, any news on Ip Man BD?
