and people still buying it.....
they sold the BD rip D9 to me at RM10 only....the quality is really good, a notch above their regular DVD with higher bitrate like those "Superbit" original DVD. For RM10, I said it's worth it lar.

That's why I love my PS3. You will be surprised what PS3 can do with your 700MB AVI movie files. It is excellent video upscaler, much much better than VCD and sometimes up to par with DVD. U can even add the subtitles on your file and PS3 can display them on the screen. I mostly download those very hard to find, sickly disturbing films, foreign films etc. I won't sell my PS3 if I have a new BD player.

i use ps3 media server to stream/transcode all my videos. and it connected my campus network. students here share their videos and it is like 6 terabyte data shared. so if bored, just browse all the content through ps3 and directly stream it.the ps3 media server make sure all the files are readable by ps3, including 1080p mkv file.

You mean the files are on a shared server or on individual pc? If pc, then streaming to others will slow down the source pc, no? Sounds like nice campus QUOTE(irwan6179 @ Feb 19 2009, 01:00 PM) i use ps3 media server to stream/transcode all my videos. and it connected my campus network. students here share their videos and it is like 6 terabyte data shared. so if bored, just browse all the content through ps3 and directly stream it.the ps3 media server make sure all the files are readable by ps3, including 1080p mkv file. |

Everything about PS3 is veli good! Onli downside (at least to me) are:
1. No front panel display (ok lor, its a game console to start with... 2. Disc slutting mechanism (I meant 'slot' 3. Too many steps to switch off machine But those only my opinion on PS3 as a BD player je... if as a game console: tip-top! |

i just realized Hellboy II BD displays full screen on 16:9 Panel... mostly others will have black bars on top & bottom due to 2.35:1 or something like that... anyway to make all BDs fit fullscreen?

Hell Boy II was shot with 1.85:1 aspect ratio (so did Hellboy, the 1st movie)... dats y it almost fit our 16:9 HDTVs. Spielberg loves this academy flat ratio too... check Jurassic Park

QUOTE(laowai @ Feb 19 2009, 01:54 PM) You mean the files are on a shared server or on individual pc? If pc, then streaming to others will slow down the source pc, no? the files are in individual pc. each room got several lan port so we are all connected. mostly ppl who share terabytes of files got separate pc for file share. they usually put txt file in their folder saying don't stream, just copy. But i guess since hd files are big, copying file will take as long as streaming the file. that's why i always stream Sounds like nice campus QUOTE(fentanyl @ Feb 19 2009, 04:49 PM) Just hold down the PS3's power button for at least 5 seconds till u hear some beeps and it will turn red. Only 1 step I guess. No? I think he meant shutdown using the controller. |
