Received my Persona M Line abt a week ago. Tomorrow will be doing my first service. During delivery, rear right hand side central locking failed, rectified by SC. And after driving for a while, realised that the alignment is not correct. The steering turns slightly to the left when the car is tracking in a straight line. Rectified at a tyre shop with full alignment, paid by the dealership. They told me that all four tyres need realignment! Only after that the car tracks correct. The sound from the back seat has started coming out, but will try spraying WD40 at the locks, see if that will help. Other than that, everything ok. Have been driving without radio for sometime now trying to pick up any more funny noises.

Ah, there's one thing I forgot to mention. My wiper selector stalk is lose, not fit. You can touch it and goyang-goyang it in its socket. It functions correctly though. Wonder why I didn't notice during delivery. But claimed warranty, and SC ordered the part, wiper switch column. Waiting for it to arrive now.

Guys, I bought mine at EON. Can I opt to service at at PESC? Will it void the warranty? Coz the EON service centre here at Bintulu is kinda dodgy. Any Bintulu members here?

Guys, go spray WD40 on the hinges of the fuel lid. To protect it from rust.

I tried out my friend's Vios J spec last night. The ride was hard, my Persona is definitely much better, more comfortable. And I think the sound insulation is not quite ok also, as the tyre roar can be heard quite clearly inside the cabin. Maybe the stock tyre is noisy? Or maybe Persona is definitely better? biggrin.gif

Guys, if you turn the key to the on position, you'll hear a whizz sound, coming from the back, after that, the fuel needle will move. Do you wait for the whizz sound to stop before you crank the engine, or you just straightaway crank?
BTW, another question. I was quoted RM 1600 for the top of the range AirCool tint, the one with 98% heat rejection. Is it ok? Or overpriced? Or I should just go for VKool?

Does the Persona come with stock cabin filter fitted at the aircond blower intake??? Or can it be fitted?

Added on August 21, 2009, 5:53 pmOk i am comparing this to my 3 years + old MyVi automatic.

I just test driven a B Line auto just now... Road noise was very minimal! Love it. Plastic fittings seemed / feel very tightly fitted.

But the initial pickup from standstill is kinda slow. But reaching 100 Km/h and above was kinda easy. Comparing this with my 88bhp MyVi automatic...how come my MyVi feels so much faster in pickup? Can wheel spin some more... Persona with 110bhp right? I tried to have a fast pickup and mb a bit of spin but it didn't... Mb power to weight ratio eh?

Aircond noise so so... And what i like is that the blower is pretty strong even at level 1 setting.

Engine noise quite minimal. Overall ride quality not bad...

Gear shifting was very smooth.

BUT

The unit i test driven was only 34 Km/h mileage. I didnt bother as i still red line and speed over 100km/h on it. It has a malfunctioned signal light and wiper.... hummmm.... some kinda first impression to me eh?? hahaha.... And it has this zingy noise (not too loud) coming out from the aircond blower... Dunno why is it...

So tell me guys... is it advisable to go for Persona or stay away because of the list of problems?

If this would be my next new car, i would be going for the M Line.

I'd say, go for it. At that price point, Persona is the best value you can get. Depending on your luck, you may get a totally problem-free car.

Guys, do you know what is actually wrong with the central locking system? My car is 4 weeks old, and the second central locking failure occured. But it looked very easy to be fixed. The mech just tighten something and it worked again. The SC guy said " memang selalu loose". So what is loose actually?

duuhh.. my aircond is not cold, hence the question. i just need to know whether service aircond outside is a good option since the car is still under warranty.

Persona's aircond is Sanden right? I think if we go to Sanden's authorised service, should be ok.

So how is it? Nice? Dark enough? How many % heat rejection?
