i own a 2008 proton persona h-line.. vibration on the accelerator paddle whenever I'm driving at 90km/h (approx. 2500-2800 rpm).. this is proton manufacturing defect.. proton wont admit this.. lousy technical and quality team.. they should change the management, including the MD, Dato' Syed Zainal... My advise... NEVER GO FOR PROTON ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY.. GO FOR 2ND HAND CAR!!!

Proton Edar management have discussed on your problem with the car. After going through the technical and audit report we came to know that the car is within the specification. At the same time we have also responded to Chief Secretary Office of government regarding your concern. Hereby we are attaching the copy of reply for your reference. Our management is proposing to conduct a joint test drive with our technical team to verify the problem. It will be a good option to communicate with our technical team in person. Upon our phone conversation this afternoon, we will confirm with you on the date of test drive with our technical team as soon as possible. We would like to apologize for the inconvenient.

yes guys, juz had my test drive with proton technical team from shah alam.. they identified my problem as manufacturing defect... huhuhu.. pity them... hope to hear from them soon about my car status.. repair? change? not sure...

Added on April 4, 2009, 12:39 pmhey guys.. before i forget..wanna share one info from proton people (and the i.care team as well) about the vibration thing on the accelerator paddle.. their previous countermeasure was to install a damper kit on the drive shaft (instead of tightening nuts..huahuahua..), but this action still produce mild vibration on the pedal.. it seems that proton quality team had covered up this issue from the public since this defect only occurs on selected model, more on the h-line model but cant confirm on that.. their report did mention that there is some vibration whenever the rev is at 2500-2800rpm.. the team is still looking into this issue... they also trigger that the persona h-line batch IAFM manufactured during aug 2008 will probably have this issue as well... hope they will find other way to improve...cross finger...

p/s my fren oso had this problem, but pity him coz the SC had installed old gen2's damper kit on his car driveshaft.. his pomen detect the faulty... dunno wat he gonna do next.. will update on the quality report soon i got the info k... peace

i got this news from the technical team from Shah Alam.. and to make it funner, the front bumper will be the same as Gen2 CPS (VW+Audi kind of style)... So, juz wait n see laa bro.. Might be releasing end of this year..

got this problem before, vibration on pedal at 90km/h at 2500-2800rpm...what u can do is, by calling to i-care or the MD office number to ask for the quality report for the tuning of IAFM engine (u have to send ur car to the plant in shah alam-nearly 1 month..heheh..they give u a relief car)..it seems that this problem is normal for all waja CPS, gen2 CPS, and persona IAFM and even on Toyota VIOS.. Good news is, no vibration on Proton Saga BLM.. Hehehe....

yes brother..nearly a month i left my car there...actually nothing proton did except for taking the telemetry at the suspected rpm that causes the vibration.. they compare with other model in the market and said the vibration is acceptable and within the company specification...i didn't accept their justification..so what they did was putting 2 damper on my car driveshaft, one on the longer and another one on the shorter driveshaft...reduce abit, but still can feel mild vibration..just try your luck talking to them...conclusion --> nothing can be done on this problem, i take it as manufacturing defect..

Hi, does anyone had this problem of peel off plastic coating on the dashboard, normally around the gap between HU (last time got the analog clock one) and the dashboard? Is it because of the sun light?

yea, i use tyre n dashboard polish (universal). hey, can ask SC to touch up the paint or not? dashboard got warranty huh?

hi loong2020, just finished with my 15000 km service at GT1 service centre in melaka (around rm165). my first time here after friend's recommendation (coz not good service from main melaka branch in tun fatimah..BIG headache). The guy who did the service for my car noticed that my dashboard has curvy texture exactly in the middle part of the dashboard. i thought it was just a aerodynamic thingy by Proton, but he showed to me some few personas and i got shocked to noticed that there aren't any curvy texture on all of them. i bought my car in aug 2008 and i know it's still under warranty. the guy asked me to go to main branch to ask bout the warranty thingy. he's not sure whether they will change the dashboard or not. what u think bro loong2020? mine h-line n have the srs airbag on the passenger side.

mine is 2nd batch, bought in aug 2008.. juz sent to service centre today morning..they said they gonna check it first..but clearly can see the curve and peel off plastic coating.. rugi laa me tinted the front glass for rm400..

anyone know the market price for aftermarket gen2/persona smoked projector headlamp and LED rear light. I saw in malim melaka, the brand was eagle eyes from taiwan. Smoked projector headlamp at rm799. Worth it? Not sure the rear LED light price. maybe around rm4++. Anyone in Melaka? Please help

p/s: yesterday i accidentally hit my car with concrete block at parking lot. broke abit of the lower side of my bumper. not sure can claim insurance or not. can i? if repair myself by sending to workshop, basically how much it will cost me?
