Waaa.. already V5 lorr.. make me even more proud to be one of Persona owner/driver smile.gif Bravo!!

read thru.. and I think some Q not answered yet, so, juz sharing what I know. If already being answered, Ok lorr..

1) change of brakepad outside using other brand brakepad won't affect your warranty. As brakepad is a consumable parts.. checked with proton edar service center person when done my 40000km service.

2) fill in fuel but meter's needle doesn't show to 'F' ... there's a reply abt it's the gas that make u think u already fillin fuel till it's full. Maybe U shud try fillin till it overflow one time. and see whether the needle show to 'F' or not... if still not showing to 'F' after overflow, can go report kaw-kaw @ service center

3) Major problem with persona? The car itself is lovely and satisfying to me. In my opinions, the major problem is with Proton service center... some juz tipu-tipu fixing stuff we complained, some curi minyak, some tell us still no parts (proton made in UK ah to tell me no parts?)... too much craps to entertain ler for their service.. so, need more of your patients and $$$ ...
want less problem with after sales service.. buy expensive cars ler.. like honda/mercedes/ferrari?

Happy.. happy... my persona is soo cute that all cars want to bang her... but, it's still running after more than a year now smile.gif

I will get my persona soon, but I'm wondering for the road tax sticker which is quiet difficult to peel off when renew road tax.

My question is, do anyone have any idea or solution to place this road tax on another material? Meaning that, whenever i peel off the road tax sticker i want it to be easy & doesn't affect my windscreen tint.

some forumers had posted an adv selling a plastic case which can be recycle.. try search it, bro... but, if you have any tips that's easy to apply for removing the road tax stickers.. pls share with us smile.gif

sibnemh84, Thanks for the link.... nice LEDs job!!! but, not my kinda LED smile.gif appreciate the info..

QUOTE(seela85 @ Mar 18 2009, 01:32 AM)
u can add it.. nod.gif  but it will cost u... brows.gif  coz i already ask the SC about it... they say, it's posible but u need to change the full alarm sistem.. coz, the remote for trunk is the alarm key(car key)... doh.gif  doh.gif  u cant add setting on the key.. only can change the remote with supporting trunk opener.... if u double press the unlock button.. the trunk will open....  thumbup.gif so, for putting that thing, u need to change the key remote... and the remote key not selling seperately.. it is one set with alarm sistem.... doh.gif

so, u wan change it...?? i think u will headach.... blink.gif  think first before put it.... cool2.gif
*
seela85, thanks for sharing... if need to change the whole alarm systems... it'll never get my interests lah. not worth the money to invest on some small features. I thought can just put some add-ons and change the car keys by sending the keys to Proton for re-registering the car keys code (immobilizer stuff?)...

BTW, mine is M-Line, but, I bought a GPS from an owner of H-Line Persona in this forum. if anybody interested, maybe you can try to search @ garage sales... good luck smile.gif

Thanks again guys for sharing infos here... appreciate it.

Richard0304, my case, i just plug in to the car cig socket... walla.. it's working as it shud've been doing smile.gif no probs ah ... and it does have internal batteries.. just not much hours of power to supports smile.gif

Yes it comes along, I own a H-Line, and the GPS blows  rclxub.gif
How much did you purchase the GPS for? I googled around and market price is around RM1,000  hmm.gif If you'd ask me honestly like I posted in Persona Forum V4, go for Garmin Nuvi. The lowest end model is around RM600+ I last heard. Much better maps! Way way way better maps. The latest map provided by the Proton GPS is not functioning, I had to use the old map (I updated last year)
Yes! Signal is strong only when properly charged. Loading time as it searches for the satellite may take some time if the battery of the unit is low
*
sebnimh84, i got it cheap2 la from dear buddies here... well, nothing much to shout abt the gps... able to get me near to where i shud go... eg; put in my fren address @ cheras, the gps get me to cheras somewhere i dono (coz am not an expert for cheras area)... but, my fren came and fetch me somewhere nearby to his house. To me, OK la.

On the other hands, I've registered my hoome address and location in the GPS, it's able to direct my way back home... ALL THE TIME... never get me lost on my way back home all this while smile.gif

Bad sides, is you have to bring another bag with you anywhere you go, coz, u don't want to leave this gadget inside your car when you park it @ shopping malls.. so, for single men, susah la mau date2x sama gfs... but, tak ada this gps also, susah mau cari jalan balik bila sudah sesat... have to live with it lah.. smile.gif

It can play mp3 or vids..mp3 is ok lorr.. better listen to my radio player maa.. but, never bother to try vids... ha3x...

Abt the satellite... I have no probs with the receptions... OK to me.. go anywhere also can detect.. and I find the digital speedometer is cool... except the speeding warning is kinda noisy sometimes... ha3x

Abt the maps not functioning.. I don't upgrade my maps yet... but, if it's not functioning..something is not right in place. Maybe you should consult with the mynavi customer support. They shud be able to recognize the probs smile.gif good luck bro.

And, I've heard also that garmin is better etc stories.. but never tried and I don't really care. I have mynavi and happy with it as for now. A visit to gps shop before u make ur purchase wud be good i guess.. smile.gif after purchased.. y need to bother biggrin.gif

what the.. shocking.gif looks like gameboy.. thumbup.gif btw, persona's gps is not built-in one right?
*
built in?!! NO laa... he3x... if you're able to make it built-in in the future, don't forget to share with us all here... I'm interested to tanam that gps inside my dashboard if can have the cover-from-pencuri functions... ha3x... btw, it's attached to a windscreen panel adaptor stuff... looks kinda ugly from outside... but, it's convenient for you to manouver inside smile.gif

PRECAUTION : DON'T TOUCH the GPS & DRIVE... the effect might be the same like drink & drive if you do it... enjoy the gameboy!!! biggrin.gif

Hi all sifu,

Has anybody Persona HL have problem with remote trunk? My remote trunk can not work already cry.gif  cry.gif

I have report it to SC and they did request a new remote trunk for me, and after installation, still can not open rclxub.gif  doh.gif

The mechanical told me that the remote trunk is not powerfull enough to open the trunk and the remote is just for door open and lock only. Anyone know about this??

Anybody got this problem and solve it??

Thanks so much
*
I find it as funny that your SC told you the remote trunk is not powerful enough. If that's so, why not other HL owners made the same report? SC always give us lame excuses... have they adjusted the trunk lid lock positions? BTW, ask them to solve their problems lorr... good luck and sorry that I can't help. First time I've heard of probs with the trunk remote control.. when U open using keys and lever no problems ah?

maybe bad wiring connections lorr... or the connectors probs lorr... QC probs shud be... I still find it's hard to believe that the remote control box got not enough power was the caused (if it's true that they already changed your remote box to a good functional new unit as what they've claimed!).. Unless all HL owners are facing the same probs as you do. It does make some sense. If you don't report and send your car to SC @ COE, you're at loss. We don't pay our sweat and money for piece of junk. Make them get it fixed, bro..

BTW, I myself don't trust the mechanics lorr.. we report other problems.. the told us it's fixed, but, they've done nothing. Worst come to worst, they stole our gasoline. And, we pay for their products and cars maintenance, have to chase them to get their service. Sometimes got no logic to this scenarios...

ECU tune can be done at COE if I'm not mistaken, right?

an SA also told me that the ECU need to be reprogram to new version firmware (/software/program/wateva the named is), but, I don't dare to ask COE to do cause nobody here in this forum ever mention abt reprogramming ECU as far as I can remember...

my persona alarm system is very weird lorr... i get into the car... start my engine.. automatic the central lock system is locking all the doors (during which, i don't step on the brake or release the hand brake.. just start the engine)...

and then... after the nice ride with the pride and joy... stop and parked the car, shut down the engine.. the central lock open all doors - this is normal as in manual books... and than, take the keys with me, hand brake is up... get out of my car... close the doors, and again the central lock automatically locks all doors ( I haven't push the alarm button on my keys just yet)...

hmm...hmm...hmmm.............. i'm speechless...

anybody encounter this kinda probs, can share info with me? thanks in advance smile.gif

if it occurs repeatedly .. i can be assure that it's something with the setting... my mistake that I need to mention that the problems occur sometimes.. not all the time... so, cannot juz say it's setting... well.. gonna send to SC and let them rectify the problems again. sent in last time, they said the actuator connector is loose.. the already crimped it... but, it happens again... we let them do the check again la... haih... my ride nnt kena barai lagi la.. nowadays, persona is reducing my precious time with my gf ah... how to kahwin maaaaaaa???!!

Shapa, brake pad no warranty ley... consumable parts

i went to PSC, they have mintye and original bosch malaysia (not german)... so, mintye abt rm100++ .. and bosch abt rm300++.. service charge around 50 (all figure is as far as i can recall.. don't think it's d exact price tho- too lazy to look at the service report again) .. I've chosen bosch coz don't want trouble using others than the original proton parts.. although they said no problem whatsoever.. but, when have problems, they will always say it is normal for proton.. haihh... no wonder ler people trying to avoid buying proton if they are able to. produced good affordable car, but deliver very bad service.
