Wonder if there's anyone hunting for new camera or lens in Penang? Would like to get a Nex5n single lens kit but I'm bad at bargaining. Maybe if more people buy together can get better rebates?

Ok.. Went surveying again for camera prices in Penang specifically Megastar. Return home a bit surprised actually..

Canon 60D + 18-55 - 3045
Canon 60D + 18-135 - 3640 [with uv filter 3710]
Canon 60D + 18-135 + 50mm + 2 UV filter nano coated - 4100

for the filters : i suggest u get from lowyat garage sales. it is a LOT cheaper.. =)

50mm 1.8 - 250
Tamron 17-50mm - 1350 [ increase near 200+ bucks]
Tamron 17-50mm VC - 1700 [ same goes to this]

580 EXII - 1420
430 EXII - 900

yeah... Canon Lens.. NEW unit.. not 2nd hand unit.. =) my fren just bought again last week.. it is RM 250..

I bought mine from Megastar, $200 6mths ago. Others quoted $220.
Sold to others at RM250 after used 3 months

well i wonder if there's any other brands (minolta/carlzeiss e.g) 50mm f1.8 lens which is around the price of the canon 50f1.8 lens too??

i think the price fluctuates with time.. i wonder how much is the dealer price for this..

my fren before buying this lens.. he went lyn GS to search and also other shops.. no1 quote lower than MegaStar.. that is for now..

every1 wants to get lens at dealer price.. but they ain't revealing anything !!!

Anyone know the price of SB-700 or SB-910 in Penang?

i bought a SB910 recently for RM1610.... got quoted SB700 @ RM890

Can I know the shop name? I asked the price of SB700 @ RM980-990. Err the function of SB910 much better compared to SB700? My budget quite tight, afford for SB700 only

i think only main difference between SB910 n SB700 is the GN number, recycle time n zoom range....

what body u using?

unless u need the commander mode... myself get the SB600... much cheaper even....

Thanks for the info. Now I'm using Nikon D5100, wish to buy a flash gun with diffuser to prevent harsh shadow. Budget a bit tight, so hope can buy 1 speedlight which is user friendly and price lower than 1k.

Errmm.. you bought SB910 or SB600?

i have both a SB600 n SB910

D5100 no commander mode... so if u wanna play wif multiple flash in future.. pick SB700 to suit ur budget IMO

diffuser -> juz bouce ur flash wif a white A4 paper la FOC

I don't know, Alex seem lansi sometimes to be frank. helped friend to purchase a lens, need to be wait longer than another shop. Just claim a warranty take ages and when asked him, tell me with unpolite way. That why I switch to excel beside megastar. Even my quantity not much but 42k business for purchase from End user consider a lot d.

Freebies: Original Nikon Bag, Tripod, 8GB Memory card. Will have better price in Penang?

I usually survey all shops I can and find with best prices. Hehe. Sometimes the price is cheap for one thing, but a bit more expensive for one another. (or worst case, no stock)

My fav shops for survey/buying stuff (not in particular order) :
- Click n Snap
- Excel Photo (At T-junction)
- Elite Professional (in front of Mydin)
- Megastar (close to Excel Photo)
- Hike (same row, closer to pedestrian flyover)

*I buy at any shop with good price and have stock of what I need..hehe.
