It seems like this car is quite cheap to buy, below RM10k also got. How is the maintenance like and is it difficult to find spare parts?

Is the car powerful enough? Reliable? Can travel long distance?

I used to own an aura b4....i have to say...it was a nice and nimble car to drive...

very tough and durable...and spareparts like timing belts, oil filters, etc are quite ok..comparative with protons

however, bodyparts would be abit difficult nowadays, even frm kedai potong...as there aren't anymore left in japan to potong.... biggrin.gif

anyhow, i'd say this car is good overall, especially for students, ppl starting work, etc... nod.gif

mine was sold when i continued my studies abroad, some 15years or so...

sparepart can get , maintain it well, it will serve u long ..cheap maintenance also .. powerfull, see what engine.. a fren of mine modified and dynoed a 1.0 CB23 .. get 49hp .. which is pretty damn good for a sublitre 3 cylinder carb. ofcoz can . i travel from kl to seremban every week and sometimes go melaka, johor, trg...

my bro used 2 have one of these.. when he bought it it was already been modified 2 a CB80 1.0L twin cam turbo engine.. its a fast small car, no doubt bout it.. he used 2 send me 2 work in the mornings couple of yrs ago.. n on the way theres this long straight after a traffic light, n he loves 2 blast off after that traffic light.. thast y i know its fast!!

but, theres a downside.. he always complained that parts r not easy 2 find, even in chop shops, n theyre not cheap.. maybe bout a yr after that, he swapped 2 a new engine, the same gtti engine, but a newer better conditioned one.. couple of months after that, he sold it.. he said cannot tahan 2 maintain.. perhaps coz hes salary was small that time, n the car was taking a big portion of it every month.. he bought a kancil after that..

what we mean is, body parts like doors, bumper, bonet are not easy to find and expensive..

but you can find those spare parts like absorber, mounting, fuel filter, timing belt, etc. easily and not expensiv..

Any other really cheap second-hand cars which are below RM5k and suitable for fresh grads? No local cars please.

What about cars like old Mitsubishi Galant or Nissan Sunny?

if u wan something that's "almost" bullet-proof...then go for the nissan sunny 130y.

if u can find a good conditioned one, go for it. it's super fuel saver, and parts are quite easy to get...

forget abt older cars...you'll have rust problems here and there...if u can't stand the rust, you'll have big headaches....

how i know...i have a ke70(GL)...rust problems are nightmare... doh.gif

the same goes with cars like the 120y....

juz my 2yen... biggrin.gif
