wow my post on the LED belt got deleted, but some H posts that would be more appropriate in the wishlist thread were not. i guess the mod has a H belt too?

what are the rules here? are we allowed to comment on the items? or are we only allowed to say good things? if i feel that something looks tacky, can i not say it indirectly?

maybe you guys should have a list of items that can't be criticised. i wouldn't want to insult the powers that be or their belongings/bragging rights that they have purchased.

am i getting banned? please don't ban me. i love it here.

Lol Hermesman, troll of SF.

It's fairly common for the sartorially challenged to confuse dressing more formally (and decking out outfits with garish status symbols) with dressing better.

Not in the mood to re-upload pics, so you don't get a bespoke photo. Sorry bro
*
all that stuff doesn't compare to a H belt. you are just a pretender. repent and get yourself a H belt. REPENT!

on a more serious note, what the hell do you do for a living? and can i have your job when you are done with it? or if you don't work, are your parents looking to adopt? pls pm me the details. thanks.

Can't wait to experience what the big deal is about this bag.

Willingness to pay RM80 for a pair of socks separates the big tymers from the small tymers.
*
i realised i was a small timer when i weighed my last package that came from overseas, and its weight was a mere 380g as opposed to 38kg.

i suspect customs has already realised that the bag is a big deal. i have never been hauled up in my 12 years of online purchasing. but then again, i'm a small timer.

I should add that I had very high expectations of that bag, given the cost and the fact that even PG carries one.

It manages to exceeed my expectations. Imagine the most robust bag possible. This bag is 2X as robust.

I thought it would be similar to those canvas bags you see in Sg. Wang except more refined. But it's totally different.
*
wow big hint. time to go get me one.

Added on May 23, 2011, 2:54 pmholy mother of all that is holy. that's one expensive bag.

did you buy it from the official website or from a 3rd party? if it's from the official website, and the brand was stated on the packaging, then it's no wonder you got taxed.

Got it for $168 + $41 shipping. It's from a famous retailer on SF.

Added on May 25, 2011, 12:14 amHave to call them (I use skype) to get that price, since discounting is discouraged by the manufacturer.
*
that was a bargain. unfortunately at the moment i cannot find a reason to get a bag. a "good reason" is 1 of the criteria laid down by the ministry of finance for fund approval. other criteria include cash flow and value for money.

i use google talk to call the US. surprisingly clear, even on streamyx.

^Looks great, how much? I ask because my brother will become a father this weekend and I may buy something like this for him.

My hand forged knife arrived just now. It is everything I wished it would be and more.
*
you better check with him before getting it.

i did extensive research before buying mine, and the one i got as a gift is lying in the storeroom.

speaking of which, would you like to buy a beautiful unused stroller? BNIB

or you can opt for avent (philip) products.

unfortunately i have to keep it handy in case said gift giver shows up one day. this one is in the special "not-to-be-recycled" corner of the storeroom.

QUOTE(CHiNO730 @ Jun 22 2011, 03:42 PM)
I have used many, some better than others.

In M'sia, I reside in Penang, and so I am very limited in choices.  I have found two tailors in Batu Ferringhi that are decent, but nowhere near as good as your tailor.  The problem is that since they cater to tourists, there's a salesman at the shop that has no idea about bespoke fashion (the actual tailor is rarely there).  So basically, I have to ask him to write down exactly what I want, and sometimes I have to go back a few times with the same piece of clothing to get it right.  Obviously, once they get it down, then I'm set.  But, I have to be careful about making adjustments for the sheer risk of getting something back that was nowhere near what I asked for.

The sad part is, I had to go through at least six tailors before I settled on those two.  There are some tailors where I'd show them certain stitching and asked them if they could do it, and they would give me an awkward smile and say they could not.

Naturally, when I'm back in the states, I get most of my tailoring done (and go on a shopping spree), and the one who does mine is exceptional.  Same one that does a lot of celebrity clientele including the likes of Diddy.  In fact, they are tailoring a few shirts I picked up from Jermyn Street.  I will be sure to take a photo of their "wall" when I get there to share.

But your tailor - seems to know a thing or two.  No doubt, you have recognized this and keep going back, which hints at your appreciation for detail, something I truly respect.

Bedroom window is considered sophisticated.  Most people don't realize the effect it can have.
Your camera was correctly dialed to meter the clothing and not your hand, which naturally appears overexposed.
Well composed.  thumbup.gif

Lil Freak needs to get a camera.  No excuses.  We will keep bothering him until he succumbs to our will!!

When it comes to bespoke fashion, I am very particular - afterall, that's the point.

For this haul, I had the tailor add in a very fine silk Batik to the collar, homage to my love of Malaysia.
I was also particular about the cuffs - had to be able to be buttoned for more casual appearances, but also had to accept a pair of cufflinks for more formal occasions.

I explained precisely what I wanted and that's what I got.

The fabric is cotton with a silk weaved pattern throughout.  Very happy with the way these turned out.

i was at batu ferringhi a few weeks back and i didn't bother visiting any of the tailors. the words "we offer men's and women's bespoke clothing" were a telltale sign for me.

also from the window i wasn't too impressed with the fabric quality, and the fact that 3 shirts for rm240 could be ready within 24 hours.

great looking shirt. the batik was a nice touch. i can't pull that kind thing off though. getting old.

is the history of the item really important? isn't all that matters the quality?

i honestly can't tell the difference in quality between rl, lacoste & fp. i will never pay full price for any of them.

if any of them are 50% off in a colour i like, then i will probably get it.
