Malaysia customs have recently changed their policy. They base their calculations on weight now. Their formula is "Weight Bracket" + the declared value of your parcel. So for example if your parcel is 2kg, it falls under the range of RM300. On top of that if your parcel's value is for example RM200, the total amount would add up to RM500. They will normally tax you 10% of that total amount based on their formula. So even if your parcel is valued at RM200 you would have to pay an amount of around RM50 regardless of whether you have paid for shipping/taxes online. Hope that helps

QUOTE(chazychaz @ Feb 2 2013, 10:48 AM) my style..i avoid shipping via fedex or dhl..if i lower value also still got brokerage fee rm50.. Sometimes we cannot decide which shipping method or courier service the stores use but yea from my experience I have always gotten taxed via DHL and Fedex. Once my ASOS parcel was taxed like RM300 and I agreed to pay it upon delivery but they just dropped it off and did not even mention about the tax @@. Careful about scams too guys lolBest way use ems..lower down value and 100% will not be imposed by custom tax |

QUOTE(Imsilly @ Jun 17 2013, 04:57 PM) Got my stuff from END today; had to pay custom taxes of RM74.93 New customs regulation. Government want to tighten online shopping regulations and make more moneyThing is, my items total cost is 93pounds~RM458. I thought items below RM500 won't get taxed? Only bought like 3 t-shirts, weight is only 0.3KG. Is there anywhere I can ask them to check if the customs made a mistake? |

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Jun 14 2020, 12:35 AM) A petty haul from the Ken's Apothecary in conjunction with the double points reward for members. I did mention in my previous posting that their online shopping experience could be better, but the in-store experience was superb, SAs were very helpful. you should get into whisky. I would imagine someone such as yourself would enjoy it very much. I am not talking about the daily johnnie walker but more towards whiskies that are for appreciation. Those are life changing whiskies. There is a whole new world for you and everybody here to explore! PM me for details ![]() Hand sanitizers by Grown Alchemist were the best seller and sold out during the MCO. They now have it in 500 ml but I didn't procure it: ![]() Digitization has been one of the main focus for most of the companies during this pandemic to stay relevant, and to deliver the goods and services. Nonetheless, most companies have neglected a few crucial touch points in the process of digitization. I have tried ordering something from Valiram and after an email and two phone calls to their customer service team, my order mysteriously appeared at my doorstep the next day. There was no shipment tracking number prior to this. Nothing. Magic does exist, mind you. ![]() My daily consumption: ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Jun 14 2020, 09:31 PM) Thanks for the recommendation. To be frank, I did try to cultivate my appreciation towards whiskies. Nonetheless, I failed tremendously - somehow, whiskies is unpleasing to my tongue palate. It is a shame, I know. Due to this, I stay lingering in the wain category, and only limited to one, maybe two wine yards. I am a very, very casual drinker in real life. I wouldn't consider myself a connoisseur, just happened to develop an interest with whisky. I usually tell people who have had unpleasant experiences with whisky that they just have not found the right whisky to suit their liking yet. Great thing about whisky is that no 2 bottles of whiskies taste the same and different people will pick of different tasting notes. Notes ranging from bacon to berries to chocolate to coffee and different combinations of notes will bring out different experiences. Are you happened to be a whisky connoisseur? I have been stalking this forum page for years and I understand that this is for fashion but maybe whisky can be a fashion statement as well? Haha cheers guys |
