Very nice, i almost got Roja Elysium but it smelt too close to Aventus so I decided not to.

There are a lot more for you to try on other than Elysium. I am sure there will be one or two that suit you.

I have received quite a few parcels for the past few weeks......

Details later......

Upon thorough inspection, I found that the lacquered presentation box arrived not in pristine condition - fine scratches can be found on the surface and there were a few areas chipped. I dropped Nadia, my contact point at Roja Parfums, an email to feedback my concern. Immediately she replied that she will arrange for a replacement but will take several days to complete the presentation box since it required customisation. Less than 2 weeks after that, it arrived:

The service provided by Roja Parfums has been remarkable. Mr Roja Dove even sent my friend birthday wishes in video massages.

Of course, other that these, Roja Parfums is renowned to have only been using the finest ingredients in the perfume making. The only factor that will hinder me from owning more of his creation is the price, but slowly (and surely) I will collect those crystals to complete my own Thanos gauntlet.

Bakhache Luxuries was having Merdeka Sales last week. Though I am really broke, still can't resist the temptation:

Arrived in bullet-proof packaging:

Two bottles of Maison Francis Kurkdjian (MFK) - A la Rose for HM and Oud for the kuli. The presentation has increased tremendously, not so environmental friendly I would say:

user posted image

I always have a soft spot for MFK, mainly because this is the first non-mainstream perfume brand that I ventured into. I still can recall my very first MFK, A Piece of Me (APOM), was purchased from Metrojaya. A few years back, I was given the privilege to meet the Master Perfumer, Mr Francis Kurkdjian in person during the MFK boutique launch:

user posted image

MFK Oud opened up my mind this so-called Middle Eastern scent can be very pleasing and work very well for Asians. If you have reservation about oud scent, do give this a try:

user posted image

I opted for the engraving service. Most people won't, in the fear that it will be a challenge to part with at a later stage:

I was in a quest to source for a few items that I missed along the way. Classic, discontinued perfume bottles are some of them but more often than not, if you missed the boat, you missed it. Hence the only option available is to source for pre-loved items.

These are the three classic bottles that I managed to secure so far this year -

user posted image

Perhaps the oldest perfume maker in the world, Creed has discontinued its rather squarish shoulder bottle and at the same time, reduced the size from 120ml to 100ml. On the left is the new bottle in 100ml, Green Irish Tweed whilst on the right is the Original Vetiver in 120ml, produced in year 2008:

user posted image

The next one, mainly made known by celebrities worldwide is Diptyque L'Ombre dans L'Eau. The old bottle, rather masculine design has been discontinued since 2012:

user posted image

This is how the current oval bottle looks like, in 100ml:

user posted image

The next one is rather unique. Shown here is a new-old stock, introduced in year 2014, Fragrance du Bois (FdB) Oud Couture in its retired, classic 50ml bottle:

user posted image

The perfume house is wholly owned by Asia Plantation Capital:

user posted image

FdB Oud Couture has been replaced by FdB Heritage in a more fancy bottle, available from FdB Prive collection, the most iconic and prized creation:

user posted image

It has been a rather exciting journey so far for this year with 14 bottles secured. Will I be adding more to the collection? Who knows....

Lol! Btw that Roja package looks incredible!! Is it custom order?

It was the exclusive Aoud triple set offered by Roja for a limited quantity. Hence they came with the wooden presentation box. I trust they can still be purchased but will come with individual presentation box.

Both in Scabal.

Thanks to a seasoned perfume head who was down-sizing his collection for a more deadly hobby, I finally had a chance to acquire these two vintage Creeds.

May I ask why do you opt to have it lined? Is it because the Scabal is too scratchy or too light?
*
It is a habit - I lined all my pants. In case you would like to know, they are neither scratchy nor light.

Have to agree with Attacus here. Shouldn't link to your sales thread; and your intentions are quite clear since you've been posting the same pics with links to your sales thread in multiple places.

It was raining cats and dogs whilst I was on the way to collect this rare gem, took me more than 1.5 hours to travel from my work place to the seller's residence.

A Creed Himalaya batch code 12A01 in 120ml bottle, manufactured in year 2012, I was informed this is the vintage unicorn batch:

Please pardon a reminiscence of an aging fella, all these chasing of vintage Creed attributed by this incident taken place more than 7 years ago. To be honest, that time it didn't spark my desire to collect any Creed, when the price was a lot more affordable:

I was at Singapore during the long weekend that coincided with two public holidays - don't you just love Malaysia? I dropped by the Escentials, Tangs Orchard last Friday, browsing through an array of fragrances and candles, attended by a very nice and polite young lady. She, a Singaporean, kept on bringing out all the fragrances and candles until I had to ask her to cease. She told me it was ok. We chatted for quite a few hours and I sampled almost half of the Serge Lutens, Creed and a couple of Amouage, CDG and L'Artisan.

I ended up getting a bottle of Fille en Aguilles by Serge Lutens. My initial intention was to sample the Five O'Clock Au Gingembre and if the scent suits me, procure it. However it was out of stock when I was there.

I was thrown in a rather generous samples by the young lady - Himalaya, Original Vetiver, Aventus, Chergui and Daim Blond.

The Aesop x APC was procured at the Aesop's flagship store at the Ngee Ann City (Takashimaya) whist the eco-luxury Ecoya candle was at the Club Street.

Another reason for me to fly over to Singapore was to pick up my delivery from DHL:

I ransacked my house and to my surprise, I found these. All the juices have been exhausted and the Original Vetiver vial is no where to be found:

So far these are the four vintage bottles that I managed to secure, from left to right, Royal Water (12A01, year 2012), Himalaya (12A01, year 2012), Original Vetiver (05D08, year 2008) and Tabarome (12A01, year 2012):

I am still in the hunt for Erolfa, Original Santal, Bois du Portugal, Silver Mountain Water, Neroli Sauvage, Millesime Imperial and Royal Mayfair. If you happen to have any to let go, please do PM me.

Yes, the Aventus is currently not in the list due to the insane demand and price, and it is close to impossible to acquire one in a vintage 120ml bottle.

Been extremely busy at work, mainly because year end is approaching. And to ensure that the whole team and network continue to stay focus.

And they said retail therapy is the best in waning away stress. Nobody would challenge that but wouldn't it be great if retail therapy can be covered by health insurance?

A small haul from my favorite online store, the strawberrynet:

Karma is a bitch.

Just when I thought it was impossible to acquire a bottle of vintage 120ml Aventus, this one appeared from nowhere at a very much reasonable price. On top of that, the seller also threw in a generous amount of samples. Mind you, these samples worth some money if he really wants to sell them:

user posted image

To the uninitiated, Creed Aventus fetches an insane price in a secondary market, especially those vintage Aventus. I had two Aventus samples with one in batch 12A01. If you were to put up a bottle of year 2012 Aventus for sales, it will be snapped up in no time.

Won't perfume have a shelf life? Wondering how it affects vintage bottles?

I just picked up a few more bottles from Penhaligon's. Just love Cairo and Halfeti, I also stocked up on some handwash and some gifts for some close friends.

It very much depends on how an individual stores the bottles and iit is crucial to avoid direct sunlight.
