Yes, Muslim including me dine at Bumbu Bali or Ole-ole Bali. But for me the restaurant only deserved Pork Free status. You need Jakim Halal logo to be Halal status restaurant.

Edit : Because those restaurant selling alcohol, so 1 of the Halal criteria are out.

what about Western restaurants opened by Chinese.. and the food is prepared by a Chinese chef. The menu doesn't have pork (similar to Bumbu Bali) Can you dine there?

Thanks for answering

I can dine there but some Muslim cannot. Frankly said, if follow rules carefully, halal or haram must be bear by myself.

i see. then it means different people have different set of rules to follow then when it comes to halal-ity

this is quite difficult for me to classify the restaurants' halal status to be honest

Easy create a 3rd category in your food blog i.e "Pork Free" biggrin.gif

Seriously that's the same category for those Pork Free famous restaurants such as Yuen Steamboat, coconut flower, Tg Harapan seafood restaurants, Anggerik Kuring & even those Indian Banan leaf outlets...virtually non-halal but pork free & u can see muslim frequent those restaurants too biggrin.gif

Agree with Stimix.

Jakim Certified = Halal Food
Non Certified but no pork = Pork free
Pork = Non Halal.
