Is the cost of owning this car expensive?

same maintainance cost as an Accord (similar year) more xpensive then proton (except perdana).

Fuel consumption is less then Accord unless ur 'heavy foot'

Actually the maintaince cost should be quite reasonable but when w/shop c coupe they think 'waterfish'

h22a good low end torquey engine.... but not that promising at high revs...

after browsing wikipedia, it is known that H22a came standard only available for the last 2 batch of Prelude which are BB4 (1992-1996) and BB5 (1997-2001).

Both batch Honda Prelude quite a pretty cool cars. Both has 4WS (four wheel steering). Sweeping in and out through traffic would be smooth (I think) and parallel park or side park is no more a hassle. Check Youtube if you dont think this is possible.

I think BB5 Prelude is really hard to spot on our road. Its a rare car. I personally only seen one unit. Just one. And it was years ago. Possibly been shipped to WMsia.

I dont think owning such car is expensive. Apart for paying the installments. Checked on MotorTrader.com and found there's one modded BB5 Prelude for sale for only RM46,000.

i dont know bout the maintenance, but the fuel consumption quite expensive. as what i heard from the used car dealer.

As a conclusion , how is the spare parts reliability as for body , engine and etc ?

Drove one back in Australia many years ago. Don't bother compare it with its competitor like MR2 and Celica. No where come close, it is a luxury sporty coupe, not your eveyday sporty coupe like integra.

Exterior , bumper can get easily .. stock bumper would just cost rm200++ .. but what is hard is the door ..

Engine , easy .. can get from half cut .. if not , just get the whole engine and transplant ..

Interior , for instance , air vent .. have to import new from japan

fuel consumption , good for out station and but heavy for uses around town ..

Ecu , same as sv4 ma ..

i'm own this car (92' BB1) around 7 years ++, so far no much big deal if u taking good care on it, for the price now its cheap worth to own 1 now. There's is some common fault on this car (actually is common fault on few model's of HONDA also) that u must know it, then other should b no problem @ all, parts still can easily find in chopshop, but if lets said 5th GEN BB6 onwards, that's a bit pricy on the half cut. Maintenance wise just like others car, won't b expensive.

for modified wise, H22A parts cheaper than B series engine, but aftermarket hv not so much parts for it. FYI there is few brand will hv for H22A, JUN, SKUNK2, OBX, FEEL's, BC, MUGEN, TOP FUEL, etc.

for 4th gen prelude bodykit wise u can find few brand that can simply plug n play for it, like CHARGESPEED, HIRO, VALUESPORTS, JUN, RISING, etc. or custom made.
