i dun think it can be changed.

apparently this is a common defect for the Nokia 5800, besides the leaking light.

how v know which 1 is the 1st batch???

any seller of 5800 in Kuching, Sarawak at this price?

if u're not suffer from those light leakage, volume high/down during calls then that probably would be the 2nd batch
or press *#0000# to find out the record by compare it with someone bought it b4 malaysia availability
but i think we'll not know unless doing a disassembly on it to find out the truth

Yup, thats a very common problem. Some said the upcoming v11 firmware will fix this problem while others mentioned it has not resolve the issue. Some people said it is a hardware issue in which they sent in to Nokia service centre for speaker replacement. Those service centers replace the speaker because they follow standard procedures. They won't spend time finding the cause, they just do replacements.

Just wait for the firmware for more confirmation. The current solution is NOT press the phone to your ear. Try spacing/easing it a little bit. Apparently it'll help resolve the issue. Probably the (just probably) the proximity sensor interfering with the speaker. Or just use a bluetooth headset for now.

You won't be able to tell. Because we can't tell how many units in a batch or each batch has different quantities due to yield. The serial numbers are all in sequence. Then supply chain management has made it very transparent to consumers.

You could check the production date (if this information is available). You could however wait many months from now, those early batches will be diluted from the market leaving the later batches in circulation. Just get an original phone. Save you from headaches. Any problem, Nokia will cover your repairs.

Well, I have a blue 5800 with the high/low problem. Even with the v11 firmware also doesn't solve it. Gets really annoyed sometimes..

Do a full reset to default. See if it comes back

Just came back from Carrefour Seberang Jaya. Found few kiosks selling the 5800. Most of them are AP. Price range between 1700-1900.

Found two dealers selling Zitron set.
1. GT Advance Mobile RM1499
2. Wonderland Telecommunication Trading RM1650
Didn't bargain yet.

maybe u should go and try ss2 atlantis ? u might get cheaper price there

Yeah Pana should be able to help him. But I am concern about the delivery stage. If we use more expensive delivery services, the whole price advantage could have been diminished.
