Got Galaxy GTX260+ tri-fan. My first OC tryout since I have bios vmodded to 1.18v

Loaded up Fur Mark with Xtreme Burn Mode on for 5 minutes. No artifacts  thumbup.gif

Fan speed 100% but still can't touch 700/1540  cry.gif

Why not you remove the HSF and re-apply the thermal compound with better ones like TX2, etc? smile.gif I did mine before even plugging into the PC. Secondly, try to overclock with only increasing the core/shader first. In my case, the memory doesn't like to go beyond 1160 stable (for whatever reason).

As far as I know, GPU-Z should extract things correctly for nVidia cards. I have not tried on an ATI so no ideas. Maybe a better explanation and example of what might be missing should be provided smile.gif

If you know which point to monitor, maybe using a multi meter would be more accurate. You can try google up for "GTX 260 voltage mod" and most of the time there are guides/info on which point to measure voltage.

Wonder my score kinda low..  hmm.gif
Is it coz of lower shader clock?
Your score is fine and I get roughly like what you're getting too.

Yup, I don't seem to see this option for my card. Any ideas? smile.gif I'm using XFX GTX 260.

Something has to be done with the cooling before we go for higher voltage. More voltage but terribly hot won't get it anywhere better.

That's pretty good smile.gif I have 740/1560/1160 during Far Cry2 at 70% fan speed but my load temps are already 71C. Nevertheless I'm still thinking of getting a full WB for this card.

Time to buy multimeter and soldering gun already.... if can 1.2v would be good enough I reckon. biggrin.gif

After that you'll have to worry about the cooling smile.gif You don't want to run happily 800Mhz Core and in the middle of your game, the screen hangs laugh.gif

i found out that Sonic memory clocking is not exactly running at 1200mhz but lower than that when u set it at 1200.

the only thing close to it is 1215mhz.
*
You mean it does not support 1Mhz incremental? smile.gif

wanna ask.. how did u guys oc ur gc using windows 7 ?
i'm using 64 bit version n rivatuner didnt detect my forceware.. sweat.gif
*
Are you using the latest 185.85? If so, please set the correct Forceware version in "Power User" settings. I'm using Vista 64 and manage to do simple functions in Rivatuner 2.24 despite the latest forceware not detected automatically.

yeay success.. thanks icon_rolleyes.gif
I'm glad you've found it and is working now smile.gif Happy overclocking. I actually prefer Rivatuner over any other tools since it's simple and easy to use.

That's true smile.gif If we're an existing GTX 260 user then might as well go for GTX 285/295 instead if there is a need to upgrade.
