yo, im having the same problem with my mp145.

E3 error prompted at the panel and the paper not fed in but it started the printing.

According to this site, http://www.fixya.com/support/t1292561-pape..._pixma_mp145_e3

It says that e3 is paper jam error.

Somehow I tried to reset the EEprom, and still not solving the problem.

No wonder it was sold at bargain price, rm165.

last time I tried all my might and try to solve the problem but at last found that there's a small paper clip stuck at the roller, it is totally invisible from outside, i had to dismantle the printer to find it....

OK, I found the simple solution while thinking like crazy to fix my
printer with error E3 (Paper Jam). Jammed paper removed but
error message still blinking.

Here the 3 step simple solution

(1) Turn off your printer

(2) Put one plain nice A4 paper at entrance of the
back roller. See picture below;
http://www.ibadahislam.com/pixma.jpg

(3) Turn ON your printer
*The printer will start moving your cartridge and
also all the roller. The plain paper you put in then will be rolled out.

If anything stuck at the roller, the plain paper will clean
it out for you.

After that your printer will be OK and the LED panel will show "1"

Try this one, it worked for me:

erm...i also encountered this type of problem b4...what i do is i put the paper inside so that it could be rolled when the printer turn...then when the printer start rolling the paper, i hold the paper half so that it can't move out until the roller stop...then the led start blinking and ask for removing the jammed paper...so i pull out the paper from the printer manual and press color button...then the printer will be back to normal...method that i done was make the paper really jammed even though it was not jammed

the text can come out, only thing is the whole background is in blue color...

printing is working fine normal.

can anyone share what is the potential cause for this problem?

Could be either dirty lens on the scanner optical pickup, degraded scanner illumination light, and/or cable problem... hmm.gif

Hi Lex,

thanks for your reply. i actually found out the scanner illumination light shooting blue-ish light instead of white light.
now its back to normal white light (and i did not do anything).
pray it will stay like this.

I actually sent it in to Canon to check and they said they found nothing wrong but after i took back from Canon it was still shooting blue light.

weird~
