K-Lite Codec Pack v4.5.3 FINAL
16 January 2009

A new version of the codec pack has been released with several updated components. New in this version is an option to choose to use an experimental MT (multi-threading) build of ffdshow. Advantage of that build compared to regular ffdshow builds is that it has better decoding performance for H.264 on CPUs with multiple cores.

This version of the codec pack is compatible with Windows 7. Tests show that there are only some issues with loading subtitles in some players.

Sometimes I wonder why so many update for codec, did the quality improve for avi, h264 or mkv file for each version update? hmm.gif . But I still admit, everytime the new version came out, I'll make sure I'm one of those who download as fast as possible ..

sometimes you don't even need a codec pack.. haali media splitter + mpc-hc is enough to play divx, xvid or h264 encoded videos.
