Basically, I'm looking for arcades that have Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6 (preferably Bloodline Rebellion) and Soul Calibur 4, if there're any.

I only know that the arcades in Sunway Pyramid, One Utama, Mid Valley do NOT have them.



I still play Marvel vs Capcom 2 at Mid Valley quite often, that's about it.

t6:RB is made for home console.

I think Soul Calibur 4 is only for consoles?Last time I checked anyway...
1 Utama has Tekken 6,but there are always some people hogging it all day long.Good luck getting a turn.

dunno bout soul calibur 4, but for SF4 and Tekken6, megamall prai got it long time ago.. ppl got bored already. LOL.

Summit USJ has 2 Tekken 6 machines. I wish I can play some SFIV in arcades, but now that the console versions are about to come out, I'll just have to settle with playing at home. Lucky I've got my arcade stick ready...

Even when Street Fighter 4 comes out for consoles, I'd still like to go to an arcade and play it. I feel that the few recent games that have come out, (Tekken 6, SF4, even Tatsunoko vs Capcom) can sort of revive the arcade scene if done correctly. There's this buzz that I get from playing other people in arcades that is sort of missing when I play on a console instead (maybe just for fighting games). In the end, I also understand the arcade operators difficulty as well, as it is a financial decision, and the arcade machines are kinda expensive.

If you guys knew how much the Namco made system for Tekken 6 costs, you'd be balling you eyes out.

It's almost to RM100k btw.

The ones we have are more to modified System 357 attached with a LCD TV to it. The one's in Sogo use a Bravia. But not sure about other places.

I guess the ones at Summit came from Sogo. Sogo now has 2 left.

the 100k is for the 6 screen combo. 4 used for head to head matches. The other 2 is to show recorded matches. But it's not available here.

BR's not coming out for arcades? I see a lot of vids on YouTube. Must be the beta test version or something.

I asked about SC4 cause my friend said that he thought some places had it. I myself am pretty sure it's not for arcades, but I could be mistaken, hence why I asked.

Yeah, I found T6 at OU by myself the other day (shocked! I didn't notice it before cause it's pretty far back) and then came back the next day to play it.

Mid Valley Megamall doesn't have SF4 or T6 as of last week, tho I still go there and play MvC2 whenever i get the chance. Occasionally play SC2 and Tekken 5 and GGXX/ and HNK there too.

And yeah, even tho most of the games I asked for are for consoles, I still like getting out there and playing other people. More fun and challenging.

...I really want SF4 and TvC tho (forgot to mention this earlier!)

I'd be at OU only for Rambo. I feel too damn good as a bad ass.

BR should come. But we won't know when. Sogo still has Dark Resurrection, so I'm pretty sure BR would come too. I'm dying to try Kazuya's new moves.

Since we're talking about gun games too, I'd like to mention that I do play 2 SPICY sometimes (One Utama).

I use the hot chick.

I've only lost once, this dude used the guy that can zoom in easily.

By the by, playing Tekken 6, I'm using LAw and Paul a lot. Dabbling in Steve, Bob, Leo, and everyone else that I use is just for kicks. Main reason I'm using PAul and LAw is that their combos seem easy to figure out.

paul feels cheap, Law is intuitive.

but that's just me since my reflexes are a little slow to match what the characters are about to do.

Tekken 6 a bit unbalanced... Bob and Devil Jin top tier.. No fun lah if ppl use that characters... I've seen 100% damage combo with Devil Jin... Once kena first hit, bye bye...

magneto, cheap but fun. I think too many Cable users that I stopped using him and replaced with Akuma instead.

I like Bob because he represents Sammo Hung. His combo's are punishing, but I've never seen anything that's death defying on those 2 characters. is it on rage mode?

Magneto is not really cheap if u know how to use... He's the hardest of the top tiers to use.. If someone can use him, means that player is good.. Cable is easy to use... No need to use skill.. MVC 2 tier list is Storm / Sentinel / Cable / Magneto in order...

Akuma is lousy in MVC 2... He takes the most damage of all the characters... Just do normal combo with Sentinel, half life gone..

Bob is good cause all his moves are fast.. I saw a few tier list...

Now I'm using Nina for Tekken 6.. Practicing... But don't like the same as damn fast die..

Magneto has many things going for him, he could be considered cheap cause he's so fast + high damage + okay life (compared to say Akuma or Strider). Not to mention dash in and then either low LK (2 frames!) or jump airdash downforward LK (almost as fast low LK) into combo.

If I use Magneto, I normally just go for this (relatively) easy combo: low HP, superjump HK, airdash downforward HP, HK, land low HK. Does about 1 super's worth of damage and is quite easy compared to say, one of his infinites.

I told Pupu already, but just to say it here, I mostly use Team Clockwork (Sentinel/Strider/Doom) and I'm the only guy that I've seen to use it at MidV. I dabble in other teams, like MSP, or variations that include Magneto/Cable/Sentinel/CapCom/Psylocke/Cyclops. Don't like Storm too much.

Lots of people use CAble, yes. Strider counters CAble's best assets though (with his air teleport), as does Blackheart AAA assist or anything that can hit a jumping back Cable. XD I'm sure there are other ways to counter conventional Cable play, but this is the one that comes to mind most easily.

We should play 1 day together... I usually play after work on weekdays or weekends in the afternoon or nite.. Do u know how to do Magneto infinite? I can't do it... I only can do Iron Man infinite.. Hehe

Anyone here play King Of Fighters XI?? Or Outrun 2? Wangan Midnite 3 also many players but I never play.. Scared addicted hehe

I know what i'm supposed to do for Magneto's infinite, but I don't practise it so I dunno how to do it. Same for Iron Man.

Magneto infinite ("The ROM")
- low HP, HK, air dash downforward, LK, LK, land, superjump LK, LK, airdash downforward LK, LK, land, repeat
or
- use Psylocke AAA assist, superjump LK, LK, airdash downforward LK, LK, land, superjump and repeat

Many other ways, but those are the most common ones to hit the infinite.

I normally play before or after movie hours, normally afternoon/evening. Sometimes morning if I'm catching early show.

SF4 not really promising as it is on graphic wise.. or maybe they set a wrong resolution since it looks jaggy and not sharp as tekken 6.
but of course, tekken6 still have the most players..

So how? Is there a way we can make this happen? Maybe if we target one arcade in particular (1U, Midvalley or the one in Pyramid as they seem to invest in new machines), and we all go individually and ask for SF4, you think they would notice and maybe order some cabinets? At least we would have done something about it, and they can't say they didn't know there was a demand for it right?

i rather wait for the SFIV consoles first. tekken 6 i've been playing with it for quite awhile now.now that kids are schooling i can have more chance to play more of tekken 6!the only character i can nicely use is asuka.

I love playing Kazuya! Wish I was better at playing him though.

I wish TvC would come out in arcades here, cos I think the Vs series are very popular amongst Malaysians. Machine cant be that expensive since the arcade board is Wii based right?

Imran, yeah. I'd do my very best to try and sample a play actually. But we'll see how it goes. japanese games have been known to come to Malaysia, so we'll see.

unfortunately, arcades are so 80's and 90's now. can't find a decent one these days around KL. Was hoping for SFIV to appear maybe in BJT or SgWang, but I guess not.

So waiting til Feb 17th is the only thing to do now.

I agree completely with you about the 80s and 90s part. But somehow recently, I feel that arcades are starting to make a resurgence, or have a chance to at least. Witness the popularity of Maximum Tune, and nice arcades popping up again, (1U and Sunway Pyramid). Also, just like the way Street Fighter 2 and Tekken boosted arcades back then, I feel that Street Fighter 4 can do the same again, as long as arcade operators bring them in.

Only saying this because when I was in Virtualand Bugis Junction last month, there was an 8 screen Street Fighter 4 cabinet, yet people still were queueing up for their turn. The awesome thing about this was the people playing were both pros and noobs. It didn't matter cos everyone wanted to try out the game. Awesome! Made me really wish for the same thing back home.


And yup Darkstalker, I agree with you about arcades. There's a thrill about playing a stranger and testing yourself in an arcade. For me its really fun whether you win or lose. (But of course I want to win la lol)

I saw Tekken 6 Machine at Tropicana City... the arcade burried deep inside 2gether w Victoria Music.

Seeing mainly 3D games in the arcade turned me off

Now i wanna make a visit to tropicana city. Not that far from going to OU, but I'm gonna be wondering how to go back home after that.

I find the arcade in Summit on the average side. Nothin great but alot better than say the arcade in Sunway Pyramid. I live in USJ so Summit USJ is the closest to me.

dudes, these days with online experience from your home consoles, the experience of playing someone in the arcades is almost there at the comfort of your own homes. thrash talking etc is still possible with voice chat on xbox live..i presume its the same as well for PSN. But of course, the whole experience of hanging out at the arcades, queing , making new friends can't be entirely replaced with playing at home/online. I agree on that part, but its the best that can be done for now

I hope SFIV makes it down here eventually to the arcades, maybe it's too expensive right now. Because I'm tired of seeing DDR/bemani/gun/driving machines at the arcades for past few years already.. haha

To me, trash talking is pure disrespect against the other player. being at the arcades can actually make u smile if u sit next to each other. The face to face machines I don't really prefer. But hey, that's just me.

Finally got to play Tekken 6 at Summit on Saturday. Very nice machines, 2 at that!

The sad thing about playing a fighting game sequel is that I always stick to the old timers. I've been playing Nina/Law/Paul/Kazuya/Michelle (Julia now) since Tekken 1. Sure, there are new moves here and there, but you already have a good feel on using these characters. I only branched out a little to test Asuka, and even then only because I played Jun a lot in Tekken 2! I saw some Tekken 6 players who use Zaffina or Miguel, and they're quite good. Guess I'll get to testing the new characters once T6: BR hits consoles then.

U shud try Lars. He looks cool like a Gaban character.

No, played alone. There were two guys beside me playing each other, pretty good. I played Kazuya, no one challenged me, not that I'm that good anyway. Some guys came behind to look, which is good, cos the bigger the crowd, maybe more people will try.

Game is good, graphics are great, but not very revolutionary. I know there's a new floor smashing thing, and some tweaks here and there, but feels the same to me. TripleB is correct about using old characters, I should try out the new guys.

Anyway, hopefully will be able to go more often, and maybe even see you guys there!

p/s On Saturday, I was the guy in red baju melayu, in case any of you guys were there.

I'm itching to try miguel and Lars, but don't have that much of money to invest on another card. The bound is something is actually a disappointment to tekken regulars, but I'm ok with it.

EDIT: The most competition I have nowadays is at MidV. If you're lucky, can have u p to 4 or 5 people taking turns playing MvC2. At that arcade, most of the time got someone playing Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 2 too. And everlasting KoF, but most play the hacked ones which I hate.

I've only played Tekken Tag once. Beat a bunch of guys but lost to someone that actually knew what he was doing.
