Hi all,

i dunno if it's my problem only but i check with one of my friend...seems like his phone also quite soft when it rings...

is there any hack software where we can boost the sound more? not sure will cause the speaker to crack la...but anyone tried this before?

tried searching the thread but couldn't find if anyone talks about this before...

cause sometimes when phone ring, i ca'nt hear leh...especially if surrounding area is not quiet...or like this morning, i put the alarm also not really loud....

thanks.

LOL. laugh.gif laugh.gif I seriously doubt that current volume limit presets, soft-modified or not, would likely be able to damage the diaphragm given the already weak bass levels.

kevyeoh, you can either try the soft-based Volume Boost Fix from iClarified's Cydia repository, or if that doesn't do the trick for you, pin/needle poking approach. The basic idea is to insert a needle through the speaker grill on the bottom-left corner of your phone, not all the way in, but just to pierce 2-3 holes through the dust filter which is adhered to the inside of the speaker grill. And of the many users who've posted their experiences of doing so online, the outcome is a pretty significant volume bump. nod.gif

Good luck!

@ kevyeoh

well we (the employees of the store) didn't dismantle the first gen iphone to see.

but the owner told us that after installing the third party app from installer (back then was installer) to artificially induce volume boost, there was a small "pop" after using the loudspeaker days later.

anyway, IMHO it would be very naive to believe that app doesn't bring any detrimental effect to your iphone. there is obviously a good reason why apple didn't design them that way; they cannot withstand such force.

Poking the speaker grill only apply to the 1st gen iPhone and yes the diaphragm can be broken like any other speaker. Apple limit the volume for a reason guys, altering the settings might cause problem in the future.

I had this issue too. End up I opened up the case and then after that I started to poke holes. Now it's much louder and better.

basically it's because of all the GUNK that build up and clogs up the holes.
