i've heard that Nyco Intercooler kills the console, something about the intercooler steals some power from the console hence making some part of the motherboard's unit don't receive enough power..
is this true?

QUOTE(Mr Ez @ Feb 26 2009, 05:13 PM) That's the earlier version, this newer one comes with its own power adapter I heard. i see... so, basically, don't use an intercooler that shares the same power adapter as the consoles, am I right? I'm using one right now, though I dunno what's the brand of the intercooler, maybe it's 'cap ayam' or something like that.. can someone advice whether to keep on using the intercooler or just take if off?

QUOTE(wilsonjay @ Feb 26 2009, 09:58 PM) dunno true or not.. woahh... for real? anyone can clarify about this? oh, one more thing, is there any electrical/electronics wizard out there who can really explain on how does a fan sharing the same power with the console can damage the console? The explanations that I've received thus far are all assumptions.. Maybe the console is kinda faulty from the beginning and M$ is just using that intercooler as a scape-goat for such issue, right? (of course, this is also just an assumption)

QUOTE(navigator @ Feb 27 2009, 11:07 PM) This is real on a "controlled environment", not in you house....so the result might be different, just like you'll never get the quoted fuel consumption on your car if you drive to work in rush hour everyday. Fan sharing the same power itself will not damage the console. The thing that damaged the console on the old Intercooler EX is the inferior quality of the connector. causing the connector to be melted onto the console & damage the console's one & only only power interface not to mention your console scream for more juice by showing 3RRoD when the power is not stable due to intercooler's problem. But do remind that intercooler sold in GH is the one using external power. The Intercooler TS. Example of the damage of old intercooler is like this :- If you're microsoft engineer, will you approve RMA for this thing? My guess is a good no. Please do you further research on Google and also Wikipedia. yeah, i've done some readings on various sites, most of 'em told me about what you are telling me, which I agree... but what I'm wondering is that is it true that the fan would "steal" some power from the source, hence making the console's motherboard lack the power to start it?

QUOTE(Alphawolf @ Mar 1 2009, 06:47 PM) temperature display? you meant the temperature of the xbox itself? no..but it does feel cooler. Had tested it this afternoon in my room, without switching on the aircon..it does feel cooler. Added on March 1, 2009, 5:49 pm yeah it is expensive... but i tend to look at it as the "ultimate" xbox cooler...so at least i tried my best to keep the damn thing happy heheeh.. we all should try and make the console cool and happy
