Hi everybody!


We are here to invite everyone to join Spotgamers at Youth 09 Festival, the largest youth festival in Malaysia more than 50000 people and over 100 activities to participate.

Spotgamers have been invited to join up with the other youth community around Malaysia in the Youth 09 Festival 9-11 January at PWTC. This is the chance for the gaming community to get the exposure and also maybe even future contacts to help the gaming community grow.

What is Youth 09?


YOUTH'09, Malaysia's largest youth lifestyle event[/B] is a 3 day festival to be held on 9th-11th January at the Putra World Trade Centre, bringing together youth communities from all over Malaysia for a range of exciting activities. Themed "Malaysia's Largest Youth Lifestyle Revolution", 50,000 young Malaysians aged 16 to 28 from different backgrounds and youth communities will be coming together to organize and participate in over 100 activities involving fashion, dance, music, entrepreneurship, personal growth, career and other youth interests.

Yup guys its the 1st ever gamers gathering in Malaysia! We will be having food and drinks for everyone(unless u guys are very hungry!) and a place for us to just chill around and have fun together.

But we wont waste this opportunity just for a meet up. We will be adding 1 more cool event which is:

How we select the nominees and the winner(Gamers)?


1st of all we will compare their achievements above all. Only then we will value other criteria such as sportsmanship, community contribution and etc etc.


How we select for marshall and organizer?


The hardest part is to value subjective and behind the scene works. There are many aspect to covered. For marshall we will value management,discipline,attitude and etc. For organizer we will value in terms of management,prizes,coverage,qualifier,promotion,participants and other quality values.


We welcome any suggestion/opinion if you feel our list is incomplete or feel that our nominees doesnt deserve the to be nominated. All suggestion can be directed thru this forum or thru our blog at Spotgamers. The dateline for suggestion/opinion is until this Friday 9/1/09. So if u feel u or ur team should be nominated, voice out and lets us all know why ^^

By performing well throughout the year (winning championships and such) and having good sportsmanship (not acting like an @$$ when u win or lose) I guess

Spotgamers Newcomer Of The Year <--- well our team made some big impact in local scene as a darkhorse making upsets by defeating local powerhouses xD

lol yea y dont we discuss this? come tell us who do u think should get d awards for:

2. Spotgamers Clan Of The Year (either team game or a clan)

at d moment we will b doing an overall award.we couldnt afford to do each games award coz its gonna cost a lot of time n resources.however d award is not base on popularity of d game instead is base on d performance.

eg. using ur starcraft as example, let say gamer A from starcraft got no.3 in WCG World and won all d tourney in Malaysia where else gamer B from FIFA only win in malaysia but doesnt hv gd performance in international tourney.

so gamer A from starcraft have better chance in winning. ^^

lol yea gd suggestion it reminds me y not we make an award for THE BEST MARSHALL and THE BEST ORGANIZER as well? wat u all think? ^^

yup wat guardioo said is true.. for the 1st time gamers dun hv to fight with each other n can jst hang out n mix ard no need to worry abt competition.

plus we oso giving award for d largest gaming community during d event. so if there is a lot of gamers for example who play command n conquer 3 register during d gath, everyone yes i mean EVERYONE gets our cool free gifts! ^^

1. Kingsurf' Papaxiong (Dota)
I always like to compare Dota with a chess game that requires skill for you to move the pieces. While skill can take you some distance in the scene but its the brains that determines the championship victories. Everyone who plays high level Dota should already know by now that the brains behind Kingsurf's countless victories effectively putting Malaysian Dota on the map is this man. Arguably the best drafter and game analyser Malaysia has ever produced, at the peak of Kingsurf's dominance , he can literally shut all your planned strats after the ban session is over and totally destroy your chances of winning the game after the picking phase. That explains why those so called top western teams fell like flies to his drafts at ESWC even though they only have 2 days training prior to flying there.

2. Kingsurf (Dota)
Probably the most publicized team of the year. From achieving 3rd at the largest Dota tournament online : MYM Pride (the best achievement Asian teams reached so far) , getting themselves falsely accused of maphack in MYM Pride (fanboys will say they too pro) , representing Malaysia in Asian WCG (3rd placing) , ESWC (2nd placing), achieving 4th in SMM 2008 (highest placing for a Malaysian team) and winning an international online Dota tournament : Farm4fame 4 (The first for an Asian team) . Appeared in online and offline media multiple times. They showed what pure skill in a game can take you and still seeks to break more barriers of what the general populace thinks is impossible.

#1: Is this for competing players or can be extended to people behind the scene?
If the later is applicable, then my opinion goes to underminer for his continues effort to promote DoTA locally and internationally. Also, he was the first person to spot ESWC Malaysia being revived.

Or nles! For marshaling non-stop.

If individual games...then I nominate FoRza of NFS. Champion of EA Play'08, Bronze at WCG Asian Championship, Champion of CELgames'08, 1st Runner Up of WCG Malaysia...not counting previous years achievement.

Sorry Jali, since you running this thing, I can't nominate you.

#2: Kingsurf, for their ESWC Grand Finals silver medal. One medal to rule their numerous other medals, it just can't get better than this.

#3: Number of contenders here:

- M1-Heaven, NFS champion of WCG Malaysia and The New Paper Cyber Challenge. Other tournament usually #2 next to FoRza.
- CT^Serry, Warcraft 3 champion of WCG Malaysia - the person that actually broke Paul Yan's years of domination in WC3.
- Pin, 1st Runner Up Warcraft 3 of WCG Malaysia and the Malaysian champion for Intel's Rampage Asia tourney. The person that demoted Paul Yan into lower bracket but then lost to Serry in the Finals.
- [MyFES]Bush, 2nd Runner Up FIFA'08 of WCG Malaysia.
- PuG.imak, 2nd Runner Up CS1.6 of WCG Malaysia.
- Flizzardo's DoTA team lineup at SMM...who would have thought, right?

Haha totally missed the word "individual". Well if based purely on international results , the best gamer would probably goes to you for representing Malaysia and taking the gold medal at Asia WCG this year.
However, as what chapree mentioned, if there is a conflict of interest of presenting this award to yourself then I would back UC.PRO Serry for this award based solely on the fact that he broke Paulyan's seemingly endless domination of Warcraft 3 ( 5 or 6 years ? Cant remember ) in WCG Malaysia this year.

As for newcomer of the year, would probably back Flizzardo's team to clinch it. No one , and I mean NO ONE would have thought a group of ragtags of unknowns formed ad-hocly for a tournament 1 week before SMM could have almost take their first tournament victory and played as if they have been together for years. Their SMM run is no short of amazing clinching 8th place ahead of much more experienced teams such as Impreza , Sg Mineski , DNA-SK and Cybertime GOV. They even beaten the team that got second place Evo Xtc at the group stage. If the team managed to stay together for some time more, perhaps they will make the scene more interesting in the future.

Looks like NFS, Fifa, DoTa, and War 3 have more attention than what I am in... The longest franchise CNC is not strong in here as in Germany and Singapore apparently.

Anyone want to go as a racing sim clan? lol. Not GRID or NFS, but Simulators like rFactor, RACE, GTR or Live for Speed

Holyboyz - 1st Runner Up of Perak C&C3 Tournament Grand Finals and also, member of the [ESP]aXe, the WGT Malaysia CoD4 champion. Two separate gaming genre there.

Gamerholic - Runner Ups at C&C3 Malaysia Tournament, CELgames and WCG Malaysia. Usually finished just next to Alpha/Vic Viper and very2 consistent.

Vic Viper - Another consistent C&C fella, filling in the champion spot left by Alpha. Champion of WCG Malaysia, Perak C&C Tournament Grand Finals and 1st Runner Up at CELgames'08. First outing to WCG Grand Finals didn't go to well as he was drew to a group full of superstars.

As for Gamer of The Year...humm, I can't think of any for C&C3. The contenders are more eligible for newcomers instead of this award that I believe usually for senior gamers (cheewaaah!)

Alpha did have a good run at EA Play'08 as 1st Runner Up, but then he came from a local qualifiers instead of Forza who have to go through open competition for NFS. He didn't get any at CELgames'08 and The New Paper Cyber Challenge. Last but not least, he was 2nd Runner Up at WCG Malaysia.

Lolz.. how bout being first malaysian to win Ravana counts? Kidding...

Jali, add one more award la.

- Organiser / Promoter of the Year.. xD

ok guys update on the Spotgamers Gathering And Spotgamers Award Ceremony.



The Bad News:

1.The organizer could not fit in with our request to have frenly matches due to the fact that there isnt enough power point for the pcs. So we have to cancel the Pro-Gamers Frenly Matches together with Predict The Winner Contest.

2. Our only activity will be on Sunday 11/1/09 6pm-8pm Mezanine Hall. We wont be setting up booth for the 3 days event at PWTC. So you dont have to come all 3 days jst come on Sunday only.

How we select the nominees and the winner(Gamers)?


1st of all we will compare their achievements above all. Only then we will value other criteria such as sportsmanship, community contribution and etc etc.


How we select for marshall and organizer?


The hardest part is to value subjective and behind the scene works. There are many aspect to covered. For marshall we will value management,discipline,attitude and etc. For organizer we will value in terms of management,prizes,coverage,qualifier,promotion,participants and other quality values.


We welcome any suggestion/opinion if you feel our list is incomplete or feel that our nominees doesnt deserve the to be nominated. All suggestion can be directed thru this forum or thru our blog at Spotgamers. The dateline for suggestion/opinion is until this Friday 9/1/09. So if u feel u or ur team should be nominated, voice out and lets us all know why ^^


As for the nominees, wear nice cloth and prepare your winning speech ^^

We need Chapree for the awards as well! Reporter of the YEAR!

Yeah....should have a games event reporter of the year award as well

thx guys for ur suggestion. we would like to add as many award as we can. but unfortunately the more award we add the more cost we have to bare.


but we will definitely look into this in the future ^^
