M line auto is close to RM 40 k...

But i wish if they can put ABS (active safety) without jacking up the price too much, they should do it, although i know this segment is very budget conscious...

Seriously, I find that the Saga is much much more comfortable than the Vios and Vios feels lumpy although it has 109hp.

So, this car.....can be called as the home run for Proton?

saga is spacious, but underpower and less stable than vios, i feel like sage hv more body roll than vios

can, definitely can if the QC for cars bound for domestic sale is improved.
(Even now export and domestic sale cars has different quality level although not as drastic as the Proton Wira/Satria/Putra era)

and also, Proton need to strengthen some of the S4PH parts. It is quite disgraceful that the most durable part of an engine are prone to cracks and snaps.

I'm talking about normal driving, not spirited driving.

Nowadays which ordinary singaporean want 2 buy car when economic downturn is happening? Not 2 mention job security isnt as that great but compared to malaysia, abit better. And this is just in 2008, not yet see after CNY 2009, that when the real layoffs will happen.

i think it is flawed... i stayed in sg for 3 weeks and i drive around everyday... i have not seen a single saga BLM.. only wajas n wiras also gen2

I don't think the list is about Top 10 best selling.......if it is, then Vios or Corolla Altis must be in the list, as both of these models are oone of the best selling models in Singapore...

But then, I just find it hard to believe there's no Vios or City in it. Everytime there's an award, like Wheels Asia COTY, the Compact car category is snapped by Vios. Then in this list, the only V I saw is Volvo.

The list is just a compilation of what the mag think as the 10 best cars on sale in Singapore which everyone can buy.

Since there is no other B-segment budget sedan listed, this sends out a very clear message to all Malaysian and Singaporean drivers.

These days, new Proton Saga can spotted very easily, in KL or even in Perak........the frequency of such sightings are higher than models like Persona or Gen2...

We are not saying Proton Saga is crap or good, in my opinion, it is very decent for what is intended for......the problem is, Toyota has something, what we call as "reputation", Toyota brand can easily attract buyers without effort, because it is their cars are known to be reliable for several decades......and along with it, their reputation also got built up...

yeap, proton saga is a cheap car for the rakyat and it has some good features too. but what to do, malaysian mentality. if you go anywhere, there are blind bashers. whatever proton do also salah

however, the T badge in malaysia is not realiable compare to JDM T badge.....

as i remember proton and perodua only manage to sell around 50 units of car everymonth.
some china car able to sell more than 50 units per month
surprising the new honda city is not in the list.

well, comments i got from some BLM owners are bad FC even for manual, bad pickup, underpowered, bad quality parts. Surprising to me, coz i read reviews that proton have improved in all those aspect.

and guess what? they are ALL CORRECT!!! my family owns a premium spec saga and after just 9 months (5000km mileage), the interior starts to creak and making annoying noises everytime i corner, press brakes or go through speed bumps. The noises it makes is even worst/louder/more than my 20 year old Toyota LE which cost 3 times less and it is 3 times better than that crap BLM...

i'm not going to start a bashing for this car but the quality is THAT bad. and the pickup........uh.........pedal to the metal for about 14-15 seconds only reach 100kmph, that's one of the slowest pickup i have ever experienced, even my dad's workhorse (toyota unser that weights like a bus) also faster. The only pros i can find on this car is it's interior and boot space, it is just enormous. And it's air-cond, like a fridge

proton's air cond is the best they still cold like a freezer even it's 20++ years old..
