My old notebook was K.O few days back and I bought a new one yesterday.

I would like to know that which version of the MS Office is compatible with Vista Home Ultimate and XP Pro?

The reason is because my wife notebook still using XP Pro and my new notebook is using Vista Home Ultimate, so I hope there is a version that will allow those Word, Excel files to be viewed under both OS.

Advance thanks for those who help me out in this issue.

Thank you very much!!!!

for vista it is better if you go for Office 2007.
But I think you can use Office 2003 too.
All the best.

My suggestion Office 2007, and not to worry so much always the new version can support the old ones. Haha..
But if you are moving to Office 2007 from Office 2003 you will have a hard time in using it due to their new interface look.
It is all depends on you the choice. Cheers!!!

For Vista it is high recommend to use Microsoft Office ver. 2007.
Let say you want to say some file to your file computer, you can convert it to ver. 2003

Or you can download a converter, which mean office 2003 can see 2007 file at microsoft website.

you've got to save the document as word 97-2003 in.doc when your saving in word 2007
the default type is .docx that is readable only in office 2007

Oh, just that simple only. Thank you very much...

Will those file content vary once I save it in .doc format in Office 2007?

I think this is my last query...
