QUOTE For example, in UMT, there are course called Degree in Nautical Studies & Maritime Management. They cannot sail as an officer unless they go for the cadetship practical onboard a ship. Hi, i got a question here, i opted for Nautical Studies & Maritime Management, where do i go for the cadetship practical onboard a ship? MEBP program offered by ALAM is only for those graduated with an engineering degree right ?

本科系的学生只需在第四年于Academi Laut Malaysia考获COC(Certificate of Competence)就有资格驾船。
For those who study this course, can sit for COC @ Academi Laut M'sia @ 4th year then you can work on a ship...
Well, maybe the info was wrong, i will have to ask the senior from there then...

My lecturer told me that my industrial training is onboard ship for 6 months, after that then we decide either to continue for another 6 months to collect the seatime for the COC or just go to the management field... Quite good news for the 3rd batch Nautical Science & Maritime Technology students @ UMT...
