Just want to ask a question: Can a company ask an employee to submit voluntary resignation? Is this legal provided the employee doesn't defame company's reputation or loss.

Hi, need help urgently.
In fact, if that company is which we really wanted to join, but we do not agree with certain terms of the offer letter, can we negotiate with HR? Or we have to follow whatever terms that mentioned in the offer letter? |

QUOTE(TommyTan @ Aug 5 2011, 02:17 PM) Depends inf you can live with those terms or not, or how likely those term will come into effect. One of the terms says if I refused to be transferred to another group companies or to any country, I shall be terminated by the company without prior notice or payment or compensation. For example if its about bond period, and payback if you break the bond I doubt they will change the terms. At least ask to nego the term, but I'd go through the hiring manager rather than HR I am not comfortable with this clause as I am not able to relocate for the next 20 years. How should I negotiate with the hiring manager? This post has been edited by debbieyss: Aug 5 2011, 07:56 PM |

QUOTE(ChrisB @ Oct 11 2011, 06:20 PM) Hi! Chris, I hope every employer would think as you do.As an employer I am interested in the reason why employees leave the company. Try to see this from the other side: Knowing the reason why somebody leaves gives the employer the opportunity to change/improve this working condition for others - may it be the salary, the working hours, the supervisor etc. What is better with the other offer? Is it 'just' a higher salary? Why not talk openly to your current employer about this? Just my 2 cents, C. Sad to say, I see many employers unwilling to investigate the reasons why the staffs are leaving. |
