There has been a lot of discussions in the Call of Duty 4 community wether to use Promod or Damn:MW. When raf1, the coder of the original COD4 Promod announced his retirement, people were sure Damn:MW would take the upper hand. However, a new version of Promod has been released which is aimed to be the unified ruleset that COD4 is looking for.

The new Promod is coded by United Kingdom Carlisle together with United Kingdom juszn, current ATS player. Both thought that the Damn:MW mod changed the game to heavily and that only a few of the changes were needed, which is what their new Promod is suposed to fix. Currently there are three major changes, No cook nades, ak74u damage changed and a sniper fix.

Changelog:
- No Cook nades: the ability to cook a nade has been removed.
- AK74u: the damage has been changed so it is not as effective at mid to long range (see interview for precise details)
- Sniper Fix: the sniper rifle is now more accurate at close range unscoped (see interview for precise details)

Sauce

ZOMG NO MORE COOK NADES!!!!!

PROMOD FTW!

edit: saw this at the source:

*UPDATE*
Due to people abusing the 'No Cook nades' by just picking it up after 4 seconds, the coders have decided to release an immediate update which blocks this bug exploit.
