I doubt that there will be an ipod with 3.2mp camera. For surely Apple has ordered the 3.2mp camera parts, but I think it's more likely for the new iphone.

I have no problems with the wi-fi on the touch. Most of the time it connects almost immediately if it detects a known network. I used to have a Windows Mobile phone and it was a pain to connect through wi-fi, usually it'd take at least 20-30 seconds. And browsing is quick and painless, no matter if it's home wi-fi or outside wi-fi.

I'm surprised that the external speakers would matter that much.....I've always thought of it as a bonus, as most mp3 players don't even have that luxury. And it's a small device, what do you expect? If you need good speakers, go buy a hi-fi! The speakers on Touch (for me) is good enough, as its mainly for games where I malas to put on earphones

And you can't compare with iPhone or any other phone for that matter. Those are phones, they NEED loud speakers because you wouldn't hear them ringing. iPods don't need such loud speakers. It'd be nice to have them, but not really a necessity.

1) Because frankly the phone part is rubbish. No SMS forwarding, no MMS, the camera cannot record video, Fortunately it'll mostly be fixed by the next OS update. Also, iPhone consumes more battery and memory. Deal breaker for me, though is the 32GB cap for iPod touch. 16GB iPhone is not good enough for me.

Ooh...cost-wise too was very important.

iPhone 16GB ~ RM2.7K without contract
iPod touch 32gb + decent 3G phone ~ less than RM2K.

2) One big disadvantage of the iPod touch is this. It only connects to the net via wifi, nothing else.

3) AFAIK Safari dont do flash. Although this may just be limited to flash video? Not too sure.

IINM only for bluetooth headsets.

Apple is very paranoid about changing the core of its products, which is why apps that interfere with core functions (browser, music playback) are not allowed. So I don't see transfer of files on bluetooth likely, unless it is used through iTunes maybe...

It should be interesting to see the 3rd gen ipod touch. I hope there's something different to the iphone 3GS. I just don't wanna see an ipod that's "an iphone without the phone" again

To those who upgraded to 3.0.....is there any difference in the sound quality? An iPhone 3G user reported in another forum that his iPhone had better sound after update....just wondering if it's the same for ipod touch 2G....
