You mean fring.

Or you can use ebuddy (save as bookmark to create a stand alone app)

Or you can jailbreak it and use Apollo instead.

Hey guys, I'm planning to get an ipod touch 2nd gen but I'm torn between getting one with 8GB or 16GB.

The reason is I'm afraid that 8GB might prove insufficient. Anyone who owns an 8GB ipod touch will you mind giving me some feedback ? Is 8GB really sufficient ? Because I plan to load some movies and some animes with the songs into it to watch during my internship which is coming soon when there is no work to do lol. 16GB will definitely be enough and I don't mind topping up to get a 16GB one if 8GB is insufficient but then again would love to save some bucks and just get an 8GB one only if its enough.

Also another question here for example if I convert an avi or wmv video file to mpg4 format will the file size remain the same or go bigger or smaller ? Will really appreciate the help guys. Thanks in advanced.

Hey mate, i was initially planning to go for the 8GB one as this was similar in capacity to the nano 3G that is now idle... But my gf convinced me to go for the 16gb due to the price difference of only around 200+ for double the size...

So far no regrets with spending 1.1k+ for that 16GB touch... After installing numerous apps as well as 750+ songs, the memory usage to date is already 4.5GB... If this was the 8GB touch, i'll be having a problem with storage very soon! laugh.gif

P.S. Check out some of my touch offers in my sales thread below! biggrin.gif

Hi, I bought Griffin's SmartTalk from Machines, Sunway pyramid. It's RM98 with 10% rebate if you are a Machine's member.
SmartTalk is a mic adapter.. it's not a headphone + mic. You basically plug SmartTalk to your iPod Touch and then plug your head/earphones to the SmartTalk. With that, you can turn your iPod Touch (Gen 2) to a VOIP phone!

Any idea..how much they charge for the membership (Machine)?

IT depends on how many tracks u wan to load inside ur ipod. If like me, i owes load in newest songs and my favorite songs. I dont load every shit inside. And for movies, probably 2-3 on the go. Unless u go vacation, then u need to load more video. BUt if u are on vacation, the time u will be watching movies or animes is the time u are in the hotel or plane rite? So, u dont need that many inside. For me, if i can save rm200, then save it. Now i load my favorites tracks inside, with 2 movies, i still got 4.5gb left. Animes wont be that big also. Movies around 500-800mb each depends on quality. The rm200 u can buy a switcheasy neo touch which is a total protection for ur ipod smile.gif It really depends on usage bro.
