Its never easy to have a love for playing the opening and ending songs of animes, especially when you can't read moon runes and have no idea where to find tabbed songs. Last night lying in bed and tabbing out Polaris no Namida (the end theme for Telepathy Shoujo Ran), it struck me that maybe other people are doing the same thing. Abit of thinking further led me to consider these:

1. If there's anyone out there tabbing songs, could we share these?

2. Does anyone want to get together and play some anime songs?

Also! Does anyone have an OK tab for Akatsuki no Kuruma? I still can't find one and Gundam Seed was what, 5 years ago?

Oh, and don't suggest asking in the musicians corner of Lyn. This is strictly otaku business mmkay?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right, here's a list of interested people with the instruments they play. We don't have to make this a permanent band, just maybe meet up and jam, and members can float in and out. If we get good enough we can play at some conventions maybe? Dreams heh. Hey, if you CAN'T play any instruments but wanna link up and learn or something, by all means! Or you can be like Mikuru chan and play the tambourine.

Don't tell me you can't play the tambourine k?

1. dishwasher (guitars, can sing abit)
2. Myclamyra (bass)
3. Stone (drums)
4. kusakabemisao (guitars and oops sorry I missed you)

For now it seems like we'll be doing Ash Like Snow, and its sung by a girl, so here's the deal. Don't make us do an abomination version of the song! If you can sing like a girl (hopefully you're a girl lar) then come join us!

I think those are about the only tabs I didn't have a problem finding. Long live the Haruhi.

Now I'm trying to learn Bump of Chicken's Karma from some tabs I found on Ultimate Guitar. And after posting this I went and searched again for 暁の車's tabs, and 2 hours of googling still have nothing.

p.s. I can't read score, I can only read guitar tabs since I'm mostly self taught. This: http://www.hamienet.com/scoreb24356-3.html just makes me sad. sad.gif

Sigh, in an attempt to transfer the akatsuki no kuruma tab to guitar pro 5, i found out I could just inport midi files into it. What have I been doing the last 5 years?

No drummer on my side as well. I play guitars, and have another guitarist friend who would probably join. Same old story really, way too many guitarist and no drummers.

Well, since I started the thread, lets keep the momentum going. I'll edit the first post with interested parties, then we can see if anyone wants to get together and jam.

One song I'm very interested in playing would be Ash Like Snow. Any takers? Need a female vocalist tho.

This section of the forums has a major lack of the female species IMO.

Tabbing by ear, the guitar parts for Ash Like Snow are fairly straight forward. I'll try to make a better tab, since what I have is so simple its abit embarrassing.

A guy singing ash like snow. Hmm. Should work, tho female vocalist are welcomed to join us!

There's actually already a GP5 tab for Ash Like Snow. So the song really is that simple... Here I was thinking I left out details.

No drummer?..

Not on my side. Anyone?

GP5 tabs of Ash Like Snow found on Ultimate Guitar sucks. Tone deaf people should never submit tabs.

That is an option as well. Biggest bummer is the lack of a drummer. But anyway on my end I'm tabbing out Ash Like Snow, learning Karma from the GP5 tab, and also learning Akatsuki no Kuruma for fun.

Just so you know, female bassist... are HOT.

I don't dare update the first thread with names because I'm not sure if people actually want to participate. Give me a 'put my name down' and I'll do it.

Still bummer on the drummer. Drum machine?

The youtube thing is way cool. Still, if most of us are centered around KL, might as well meet up right? If the female bassist wants to show up wearing a Yuki cosplay, I strongly insist that we meet up. Yes, yes we must.

In the mean time, what song do you guys want to try? My suggestions are Karma and Ash Like Snow, start slow like whathisname said, but I'm open to suggestions! That Joint video made me learn the song in an hour or two, thats how cool it was!

Hmm, sorry for the lack of replies. Between work, building a VF-25f, playing a visual novel and just plain being sick, I've been neglecting this thread.

ok. First things first. A drummer! That's really good news. Now we can really get things moving. Now lets talk about what we want to play. I think Ash Like Snow is a given. Do we want another song as well? Also, location and time? Where would we go and when would we go? I'm pretty sure weekends are the best, tho I can make some weeknights. I myself am from Kelana Jaya, but I can generally travel if needed.

The other thing is, who else is participating? We'll really need to set a list of participants at this stage, so do reply to this thread or PM me okies? I'm not sure if we can fit everyone in, hmm, how bout taking turns playing the songs and hanging out and talking shop (read: gears and technique)?

Anyway I'll try to keep track of this thread as much as possible. Lets get the show on the road.

P.S. I still need to edit the Ash Like Snow tabs I found on ultimate guitar. The one found there isn't very good (I think lar) so when I'm done with it I'll upload it somewhere.

I don't think Stone and I are ready yet for a session. I myself have only completed the drum beat and not tabbed out the bass yet (yeah slowpoke here). I'd say give it a week or two from now.

Nevertheless, this should not prevent us from planning the place to play. Both of us are familiar with many studios in Bangi and Akarkarya at SS21, Damansara. If we want to choose a mid point, then I'd recommend finding a jam studio somewhere in USJ . Personally, I wouldn't want to play at Akarkarya (even though the place is high tech, the studio is small and acoustics is not even close to the ones in Bangi, and it's more expensive). Just that at least for the 1st go, it's probably a place that is easily accessible by all members.

BTW, anyone interested in getting a copy of the drum beat? PM me yer email.
*
That brings us right up to CNY. I think its better to do this after the break, as some (myself) may be travelling back to their hometowns etc. That gives us more time to get ready. I've not been to that many studios, just those around PJ, so I'm not knowledgeable at all when it comes to studios. I'll pass on deciding where, as long as its not out of the way for me its fine.

I also really need to get working on my version of the guitar tabs. Not slowpoke, more like saddled with other things to do.
