How Ironic! Didn't know that she played the Bacchus. That video made me pickup the bass again this past year!

If that is the sound, then I have to say the 'pop' sound from the experiment that day was quite unique. It's either caused by the RM1.4k bass amp or the fender/squire jazz bass itself.

On the other hand, the Bacchus and Ibanez have the advantage in another area. Being clean, modern sound basses allows it to be synthesized better. I don't think the jazz bass can take those tone changes very well.

Anyway, my immediate task is to convert to be a drummer. Near term investment seems to be towards a 2nd, better crash cymbal.

Just came back from Japan and Bacchus guitar is fetching a lot more higher price than CIJ Fender . There were some local Japanese brand and some high school kid 'pop' the Cagayake Girls Opening with a Jazz Bass ( Local Japanese Brand ) And it come out just fine . I on the other hand , tested on a Warwick ... Love it ahaha .

Bacchus is still the same as ever , Low in stock . What I like about Japanese music store is they have a lot of nice gig bags =P , They even have the Sakurakou K-On Bu Gig Bag for otakus ~.~

Thank you. Now I understand how you feel about making collaboration videos of this kind... everyone as that little off-beat that makes editing very hard. Originally I played against the OP and sounded OK, but later when combining, it just doesn't work. So instead I played it against the combined version (had to delay some parts) so that it doesn't sound too off beat.

Will need to apply some QC on future recordings.

Glad yer wanna join! Saw some of your videos, and gotta admire your guitar collection!

Well the plan is to eventually play in performance. But now need to build slowly. Drummer is new. And we still don't have a permanent vocal.

On your videos, wondering if the recording could be through an audio-in of a PC, (or better yet, through a dedicated audio sampler). Have to admit that using PC audio-in doesn't always work well because cable/PC noise could ruin the recording. Fellow Malaysian Setsukyie (on youtube) would be a great reference on electric guitar recording. And yeah, after recording the video and sound separately, ye have to combine them sad.gif

Lastly, looking at yer cover for fudepen... hmmm.... (looking for bass tabs)

What program are you using currently ? So you're still going for the jazz bass ? One thing I wanna tell you before buying a jazz bass , The jazz bass is nice to see and nice to play but it's heavy to play it while standing up . It is bigger than our Ibanez SR200 as well . So you have to take that into consideration . Upon owning a jazz bass , I prefer Ibanez now because of it's weight and size . I'm a small size bassist lol .

Practice makes perfect for the editting part , My first few videos sucked ... But got better in time . Hey Clamy , Wanna do something fun in the next collaboration ? 2 bassist ? You and I ? Interested ? =P , Band collab as usual but with 2 bassist lol . 1 with the bassline while 1 with improvisation =D

For my latest vids (Staple Stable and Dancing on the Fire) I'm using a crude method of using a microphone placed nearby the guitar amp, while having the song playing into my headphones while I play so that it only picks up sounds from my guitar. Then I add the music into the song via Windows Media Maker. How do you guys do it? Currently, the mic quality isn't very good..

Looking to get a Boss eBand JS-8, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money... =P Anyone using it? Or is there anything cheaper for an audio sampler?

Assuming that you're using ME-20(which is also the one i'm using now), you can use a male to male audio cable. Connecting from 'Headphone' port to your PC 'mic in'. That way you'll record the sound purely from the guitar and effect while you are listening without using a headphone.

Attended this event yesterday. Apparently got a j-music band performance during the day, I went there after 8PM to watch the battle tho.

1. Using Blender 3D, Windows Movie Maker and VirtualDub for video, and Audacity and Dsound for audio. Yeah too many. Too poor to buy any pro editing software. While it is possible to make precise and perfect vidoes with the combination above, it's tedious. Using Blender3D is like using a propane metal cutter to light a candle. It's cool, but overkill.

2. The Jazz Bass has 2 benefits for me
a) As a musical instrument, it does give the warm tones that I can't get with my Ibanez - tested and confirmed.
b) It is an otaku collectible, just like figurines, posters etc. Plus loaning it cosplayers could generate income too smile.gif

The Ibanez is light and easy to play, yet I've used a heavy bass before (the white TKM).

Financially, the Jazz Bass is not too far a reach for me (staring at another dude's interest for the Gibson SG smile.gif ). If I suddenly see it in front of me for less than RM3k, I'd grab it without much thought smile.gif. How serious I want it? Hmmm... not so serious because I can still play songs with what I have. But if I end up on stage more often in the future, then it'll be serious.

3. On the 2 bass video... yep, am interested. Would it be the Valkyria Chronicles OP 2 you posted earlier?

Myclamyra: I'm actually saving up for the Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst too.. Maybe we can really perform some K-ON songs with them next time hahaha...

No sweat dude, fellow guitarist sharing knowledge. But I think aiming for the Les Paul is higher than my SG dream sweat.gif .

Hmm , For my video ... I'm using iMovie to edit single video and audio while Adobe Premiere Pro for the band video . GarageBand for my audio recording . Well , Adobe Premiere is hard to use but it really is one of the kind . Can zoom to milliseconds .

If the jazz bass is what you want , Get it then . I would still prefer an Ibanez =O Go for a CIJ Fender Jazz and change the pickups then you're ready to rock =P . Or go for a Jazz Bass R75 ... Good bridge and stuffs .

On the video , Not Valkyria Chronicles OP , I still can't play it . Something easy to improvise for starter . Recommendation . You wanna do the video editting or I'll do it ? It's up to you . Get back to me !
