Hi guys my face has a few pimples and the problem is,after washing my face,in a few hours, oil will start to come out,I know this is normal, but I dun really like it,cos it feels greasy, plus I wear spectacles,so it doesn't feel nice.. What product should I use if I want to combat acne and oil at the same time?I dun really have serious acne,my acne is just becos of puberty I think Now I'm currently using Nivea For Men Oil Control,it's quite good but the thing is,it just helps for the oil,it doesn't prevent pimples

QUOTE(frega @ Oct 31 2010, 07:21 PM) read the thread... it was just posted above you. Uh,do u mean that guy who says that he's outdoors the whole time in college? Not the same case as me But I am also looking for a good face wash, now I'm using Nivea For Men Oil Control Face Wash, but it only helps to control oil, doesn't help in preventing pimples..I am wondering if T3 is good, but the guy a few posts above says that it contains too little tea tree oil to even be considered useful? And I only want to use those brands that you can get in pharmacy like Guardian,Watsons etc. as they are pretty cheap compared to high-ends one

QUOTE(frega @ Oct 31 2010, 09:50 PM) its the same products, no matter if you're outdoors or not. unless you're in a vampire and cant let any sunlight hit you, you need sunscreen. you can take out the serum/moisturizer part if you cant afford, but its recommended since benzoyl peroxide will dry out your skin. just use a cheaper basic one, like from Neutrogena. Ok,what product do you yourself recommend to help in acne and oil prevention? And what is the best moisturizer?Must we get the same moisturizer frm the same brand as the cleanser?

QUOTE(frega @ Nov 2 2010, 09:46 AM) scroll up and read, same EXACT products, for the 2nd time. i have nothing for oil prevention. some sunscreens (biore) will help matte-tify your face (aka no make it look shiny). no you dont have to use the same brand. Oh ok,the stuff u recommend are mostly for acne, but I am more concerned about oil on my face,I don't really like the greasy feeling you know, plus I wear spectacles, and when my nose gets oily,it slips.. Well as one guy above said that our weather here doesn't really keep our face fresh all day long..I agree, oil always appear after few hours.. Anyone here using Loreal For Men range? Is it gud?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 2 2010, 06:53 PM) Just get those oil blotting sheets from the pharmacy...either Gatsby or Clean and Clear. It's a cheap solution to an oily face. Just don't use it too often throughout the day. As for moisturizers and other other products that control oil/shine, they are usually a hit and miss for me. I currently use Biotherm Homme T Pur toner and moisturizer to control oil/shine and it works to a certain extent for me. But doesn't work on my nose though as that area is really oily. Don't use too many mattifying products at once as it will really dry up your face. I see, anyway does moisturizer controls oil too?I know it's to avoid the face from dryness, but it controls oil too?

Hey in ur definition, how oily is oily when it comes to the face?
Does oily means like u can feel it is a bit oily when u touch it,or do u mean oily as in excessive oil on ur face?
Cos I think no matter how many products u use,u can't keep ur face completely oil-free(like as if you just washed ur face),oil will eventually come out

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 16 2010, 06:00 PM) Best way would to use those oil blotting sheets and determine how oily ur skin is. Another way is to wait 30mins after washing your face n see how tight your face is. The tighter your face is the less oily it is. I think most of us guys say we got oily skin but we actually have normal-combination type skin. You r right, there is no way to keep the face completely oil free. Last time I was looking to maintain that "just after washing face" feel but it was impossible. I managed to do it to a certain extent with Biore sunscreen but it dried my face out. Yup,so looks like everyone can't maintain the 'just after washing face' feel, except babies and small kids la But best we can do is to make LESS oil come out

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 20 2010, 03:47 PM) U can use a serum just make sure the combo of serum and BP/Diacneal don't cancel each other out. For example, BP and vitamin c don't mix well. Added on November 20, 2010, 3:49 pmIt would be advisable to just use one at a time. OXY will always be more effective than t3 pimple gel. So OXY 5 is better than T3? Anyway, now I'm just using Nivea For Men Oil Control Face Wash that only controls oil even though I have pimples, should I use OXY to help get rid of the pimples?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 21 2010, 05:42 PM) Depends on the severity of the acne. T3 should help those small ones but for the bigger ones OXY would be more effective. My main complaint about T3 is that I doubt the concentration of tea tree oil is high enough to fight pimples. Facial washes don't do much for pimples so yeah u shud buy some kind of anti acne cream. Oh allright then guess I should get one,OXY 5 or OXY 10?Mine isn't that serious

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 21 2010, 09:32 PM) It's actually advisable to start with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide first then go to a higher concentration if it isn't effective. However if u can't find 2.5%(any brand will do) then u just get the 5% one. Oh I see,ok,so right after washing my face with the Nivea Oil Control Face Wash,I apply the cream on the pimples?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 23 2010, 12:14 PM) yeah correct and use a light moisturizer after that to ensure your skin doesn't get too dry. If I apply the moisturizer, won't it get rid of the cream already then?I thought u must let the cream absorb into the skin first

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Nov 23 2010, 04:18 PM) Oh ya I forget to mention that u gotta let the acne cream dry for 10-15 mins b4 applying moisturizer. Some of the acne cream will get wiped off but as long as u let it dry and adsorb into the skin, it should be alright. Ok,but is it really necessary to use moisturizer? The cream will make the face drier is it?

Have u sometimes been out shopping, or just going about ur daily life, when u see this guy, with perfect and fair face without any pimples whatsoever and, u feel like as though his face radiates brilliance, just like those handsome celebrities. Not talking about K-pop celebrities, but just a regular joe. How to get that kind of skin? Are they just using the right products, or is it just genes? The pic below is professionally taken/good lighting, but there are average people out there with such good skin or even better. Not sure if plastic surgery, good genes, or they just happen to use the right products. Wouldn't say my face is too bad, but nowhere near as smooth as the pic below(Daniel Wu). Still trying to find the right products for me.

QUOTE(oneeleven @ Mar 3 2013, 04:46 AM) My favourite men's BB - Face Shop Neo-Classic Homme is on a 2-for-1 offer now. Rumoured that they may discontinue or replace with a new line with whiteners, etc, yux. If you've tried it and like it, stock up. Nearby was Body Shop. Tried their new unisex BB but it sux, pink and thick. HOWEVER, tested their other BB stuff in the silver tubes, three shades. Sales girl squeezed out some of so-called the darkest one, and I was shocked that it came out with white lumps and clear liquid. Thought, oops their samples have gone stale. However, rubbed the messy drop a moment and it INSTANTLY changed colour! I've never seen another one like that. Later in the evening my friend was amazed, said all my skin problems were undetectable! Price a bit stiff at Rm$64 for a small tube. Hoping for a promotion soon. You use BB cream on ur face, plus u are a guy? Aren't BB cream not good for our face?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Mar 6 2013, 06:30 PM) a number of reviews mention that the Hada Labo sunscreen is good but not so great for oily skin.. i haven't tried it personally. its around RM50 i think. cant think of anything else as i usually buy sunscreen fr Shiseido. whatever sunscreen she uses most important is making sure she uses a cleansing oil to remove it at night. If we use a sunscreen, MUST use a cleansing OIL to wash our face? How about normal facial foams/gels?
