johny4 and kapersky fan, another Shiseido user here biggrin.gif

Been using for a year over but not so consistent. The only thing i use often is the face wash. I'm planning to get the scrub + the basic 3 soon. How much is the scrub alone now?

Btw, if i remember correctly, the sales girl at the Shiseido counter told me to use a cotton pad and put a few drops of hydrating lotion and then dab it on the face. I wonder which is the correct method?

I'm also looking for good sun screen lotions for before and after being exposed in the sun. Each time i come back after golf, i will be burned. tongue.gif

Lastly, about face masks, if i'm using deep scrub, it is still needed? If yes, do drop some recommendations.

Thank you.

The Deep Cleansing Scrub retails for RM105 for a 125ml tube. But it will last a long time I guess as a 7ml sample lasted me 2 weeks of daily use.

Yeah the Shiseido SA told me to use cotton pad too but the directions on the hydrating lotion bottle says to use hands to apply and pat dry. I tried using a cotton pad before but it took quite a bit of lotion to wet a cotton pad...if i use a few drops on the cotton pad, most of it gets soaked up by the cotton. That's why I prefer applying with my hands. I save on the lotion too smile.gif I guess both ways are alright la, just depends on your preference. If u do get the hydrating lotion, the SA will try to convince u to get the toning lotion...which is basically an overpriced toner...while the hydrating lotion is more of a toner-moisturizer combo. I was very tempted to get the toning lotion but RM130 for a 150ml toner with nothing much inside put me off.

If u do get sunscreen (ss) go for the Japanese ones for daily use and European ones for outdoor activities. But one prob though as most of the high protection (SPF50+) Euro ss available here are heavy, oily n shiny...that's the price to pay I guess for good protection. One good affordable one is Avene Very High Protection Emulsion SPF50+...it's heavy n oily but has one of the best protection available..i cant remember the exact price but shud be in the range of RM60-RM80 for 50ml. Use this for the face. Currently I am using Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF50+ for daily use. But this is only for those with oily skin because it is very mattifying and the oil control is really awesome...my face is oil n shine free for at least 4-5 hours and perfect for hot humid weather. Only prob is that it is very hard to wash off and I got to use my gf's cleansing oil to remove the Biore ss or risk getting breakouts. This Biore ss is probably the best ss i have ever tried. Price is good too, 30ml for RM25...available at all pharmacies.

A good body sunscreen would be the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF50+. It's actually for the face n body but I found too heavy for msian weather when used on the face...but it's perfect for the body. A 88ml tube retails for RM35. I use this currently for my body.

I do use a clay mask and a face scrub too. Normally I will scrub my face first then apply a mask straight after that. I feel this way the mask penetrates better. However both masks and scrub are generally drying so it still depends on your skin type and condition. Introduce new products gradually and not all at once to determine if got any adverse reactions.

Currently using Lab Series Purifying Clay Mask twice a week and Clinique Men Face Scrub twice a week too. Once a day at night I use Shiseido Men Deep Cleansing Scrub. The Lab Series mask is decent and can last quite long as only a light layer is needed and it spreads very easily. I recently tried the Origins Out of Trouble mask and I feel it better as it contains all the good ingredients necessary in a mask. The LS mask is RM90 for 100ml and the Origins one is RM95 for 100ml. When buying a clay mask look out for ingredients like sulfur and salicylic acid.

Wow, thanks for the lengthy reply. For the hydrating lotion, i saw a video where they advised us to wet the cotton, squeeze it with both palms together and then apply the hydrating lotion. With this method, not only it reduces the friction on the skin but it also saves the amount of toner to use. I usually put 6 drops if i'm not mistaken. As for the toning lotion, i'm using it. I find it ok so far but i haven't tried lab series or biotherm products yet.

Well different strokes for different folks. I been using the lotion by applying 3-4 drops with my hands for the past 2 months and it has worked very well for me. If your method works for u keep to it.

I used Clinique 3 Steps for almost a year and there is really nothing special about it. A waste of money if u ask me because u can get similar products from the pharmacy for a fraction of the cost. Right now I am using Shiseido Men range of products and they have been working great for me. 3 times a week I use the Olay Regenerist Serum as a nighttime moisturizer. The Regenerist serum n moisturizers are packed with powerful anti aging ingredients and one ingredient in particular called Niacinamide is good for acne among other benefits. The only thing I dislike about Regenerist products is the strong fragrance that lingers for quite a while. There are fragrance free versions but only available overseas.

Nivea Men products are actually quite good and way better than other brands like L'Oreal Men and Garnier Men. The Nivea Men scrub is one of the star products. But don't expect miracles la when using Nivea Men...it's cheap and does a good job as a basic cleanser.

I use Origins products...

Although mostly for women but I think it's unisex

Their Check & Balances face wash is very nice to use, never felt dry/oily after wash and have a fresh lemony smell. I like it cause it lathers up and the feeling is good. biggrin.gif

Their products last very long as well, I brought one 250 ml face wash @ RM 100 and lasted for 8 months (washing twice a day), so it's like RM 12.50 per month, which is cheap.

I also use their toners and moisturizers as well. Origins is one of the best skin care products in the market thumbup.gif

While I am a fan of Shiseido Men products, I too agree Origins products are top class. Currently me and my gf are both using the Out of Trouble Mask and so far it is working really well.

Damm I took the bait haha.

Diacneal is working well for me but I'm a product whore so my constant experimenting of new products has given me some severe breakouts this past month. But things have calmed down and my face is looking better once more haha. Right now I use Panoxyl 5% in the day and Diacneal at night. So far this combo is working really well for me but it's a little drying especially at night.

How about u ? Last I remember u said that Diacneal wasn't working for u.

Hi There,
I just want to share a happy discovery I made  laugh.gif . Last month a friend from Low Yat forum introduce me a skin health product that claim to heal any skin disease and skin problem once and for all. Well, definitively I said I am not interested because he is a stranger and I have tried numerous products that claim to heal skin problems and they actually did not work out  hmm.gif . But after doing my home work about this skin health product, I decide to give it a try (I don't really know why I did that, maybe it is worth to try it out)  nod.gif . After few day use, I already can feel the difference in my skin, my skin is actually smother and less oily. And after 3 weeks my pores became smaller and smaller and the acne scar is fading !!! Ok, I may sounds like I am promoting something, in fact I am. This health bar really works guys, I calling for anyone that have bad skin conditions like oily skin, pimple or acne, wrinkle, eczema, dry and sensitive skin and even hair loss to give it a try. I try it and I am happy to share it with u all. PM me for details.

Sincerely:
Danny Oo

I've got oily skin too and the nose area is especially oily. I do understand how irritating it is to have oily skin. I been trying all sorts of products both cheap and expensive to reduce shine and I almost gave up until I discovered this product from Biore. It is seriously good as my face remains matte for the whole day (Even my nose). All I need to do is blot during lunch and i'm good to go. The product doesn't really stop oil from coming out but the powders in the sunscreen will absorb the oil and give a matte appearance. But the Biore sunscreen may not be suitable for those with dark skin as it lightens up the skin a bit. Btw its available in almost all pharmacies for RM25 (30ml). I been using this for 2 months now and did not suffer fr any side affects.

Toners/astringents I feel is a waste of time and money as it only dries up the skin. Dry skin = more oil. I use a toner/moisturizer combo product from Shiseido Men called the Hydrating Lotion. It's really light but soothes and hydrates my oily skin well.

Agreed man. I think my bro used it for a month and threw it away because the fragrance was overly strong and dried up his skin badly.
