At last my Shiseido cleanser & moisturizer has finished. Looking for other alternatives but not Loreal & Nivea.

What are the prices for Laneige? I hardly see this brand.
*
Laneige is around RM30 cheaper on average than Shiseido throughout their whole product range.

Laneige has a counter at most department stores around Kl/PJ.

If i were to compare Shiseido with Laneige, how would you rate it?
*
TBH ingredients wise the stuff they put into the Shiseido Men basic line (moisturizing emulsion especially) is unimpressive and not worth the higher price. But I do find the high price for products like the Total Revitalizer and Anti Shine Refresher to be worth it.

Laneige ain't too different but has a lower price and works better for me. However I find the Homme Balancing Emulsion to be a bit heavy for daytime use. I prefer the Sebum Free Multi Fluid for daytime use. On the other hand the Aqua Essence is expensive but really gives fast results. Both Shiseido and Laneige cleansers are similar and I don't think i'll repurchase as I get the same results from pharmacy brands like Gatsby and DHC For Men.

Overall both Laneige and Shiseido Men tend to be more suited for drier skins as most of their products are moisturizing and hydrating. With just one or two products for oily skin. Laneige represents more value for money but with good results.

What is aqua active essence for?

Its basically a slightly heavier version of the Homme basic moisturizer. I have it and I think its a waste of money TBH. I'm trying out Hada Labo now...cheaper and does quite a good job biggrin.gif

Hey in ur definition, how oily is oily when it comes to the face?

Does oily means like u can feel it is a bit oily when u touch it,or do u mean oily as in excessive oil on ur face?

Cos I think no matter how many products u use,u can't keep ur face completely oil-free(like as if you just washed ur face),oil will eventually come out
*
Best way would to use those oil blotting sheets and determine how oily ur skin is. Another way is to wait 30mins after washing your face n see how tight your face is. The tighter your face is the less oily it is. I think most of us guys say we got oily skin but we actually have normal-combination type skin.

You r right, there is no way to keep the face completely oil free. Last time I was looking to maintain that "just after washing face" feel but it was impossible. I managed to do it to a certain extent with Biore sunscreen but it dried my face out.

recently just finished my clinelle moisturiser and i wont buy it anymore cos i realise i hate applying cream cos its really sticky and make my skin look like its covered with food wrap. Any good product that you use after toner which is very light and watery yet moisturise well? Prefer product not made in indonesia, thailand or china.
*
Sounds like the Biotherm Homme Aquapower Oligo Thermal Ultra Moisturizing Care would suit you. I got a few samples of this and I been using it for the past few days and its really nice. Very light gel that moisturizes the skin well. Good ingredients too. It's RM140 for 75ml. I'll probably buy this for night time use as I'm edi using the Biotherm Homme T Pur moisturizer in the daytime.

There's another one by Biotherm Homme called the Aquapower Absolute that I've tried too. It's even lighter and is more suited for daytime use I guess. Ingredients about the same I think. RM80+ for 50ml...got 100ml too but I dunno the price.

I'm currently using the Biotherm Homme T Pur range. I also tried samples from the Aquapower and High Recharge ranges. Biotherm is expensive but their products give good results.

Im tired of waiting for all my acne scars to fade!!Although, they improve alot since day 1 but they are still on my face T.T.I was wondering if i can add any steps into my regime. My regime is like this
Day:
Cetaphil Cleanser > toner > moisturiser >suncreen

Night:
Cetaphil Cleanser >toner >2.5%B.P/diacneal >moisturiser
*
U could add a gentle scrub into your routine. But only use the scrub 2 times a week at most. Also don't mix the BP and Diacneal.

I use aspirin mask to scrub once in a while and it really make my face much smoother and cleaner. And I normally use B.P on minor pimple and diacneal on more severe scar. Can I use serum in between?
*
U can use a serum just make sure the combo of serum and BP/Diacneal don't cancel each other out. For example, BP and vitamin c don't mix well.

is it advisable to use 2 different pimple product at the same time? for eg applying both oxy and t3 pimple gel..
*
It would be advisable to just use one at a time. OXY will always be more effective than t3 pimple gel.

*
I don't use serums coz they r too expensive for me...serum goes after toner b4 moisturizer n b4 acne treatment.

So OXY 5 is better than T3?

Anyway, now I'm just using Nivea For Men Oil Control Face Wash that only controls oil even though I have pimples, should I use OXY to help get rid of the pimples?
*
Depends on the severity of the acne. T3 should help those small ones but for the bigger ones OXY would be more effective. My main complaint about T3 is that I doubt the concentration of tea tree oil is high enough to fight pimples. Facial washes don't do much for pimples so yeah u shud buy some kind of anti acne cream.

I just realized that the instruction on both T3 or Oxy pimple cream does state that we should apply it thrice daily..

once a day should be fine also..three times a day can make ur skin really dry.

*
It's actually advisable to start with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide first then go to a higher concentration if it isn't effective. However if u can't find 2.5%(any brand will do) then u just get the 5% one.

Oh ya I forget to mention that u gotta let the acne cream dry for 10-15 mins b4 applying moisturizer. Some of the acne cream will get wiped off but as long as u let it dry and adsorb into the skin, it should be alright.

Hey jonny,

I find myself using moisturizer after acne cream will only worsen things.

Usually I apply moisturizer after I apply PanOxyl but these few days
I was a lil bit busy so I just apply PanOxyl and go to bed without applying moisturizer.

The next day I find myself have smaller pores and lesser acne...

But then I continued without using moisturizer for a few days,
my face really gets better looking in term which is lesser acne
but I have very dry face...

What should I do?
*
What moisturizer did u use ?

You can try using a milder face wash and a hydrating toner before applying the Panoxyl. It might seem better without moisturizer for a short period but in the long term it could cause bad redness and dryness.

Guys, I want to know.

I don't have any break out anymore. But I do have uneven skin tone and pimple scars. I want to know if there is any different using off the counter product (nivea, loreal, garnier) with product such as biotherm and clinique for men. Is it much better?

I want to see improvement, even if it just a little bit. And if IT (biotherm, clinique) is better, where should I go to buy that product? In places like parkson or Isetan? Does the promoter really know what they are selling or just sales talk? Really appreciate the help. Thanks.
*
Depends on your skin...I've tried quite a few lower end products (Garnier, L'oreal n etc) and most of the time the products were not well formulated and I didn't see any noticeable results. So probably the higher end products (Clinique, Biotherm) work better for me.

I do feel however when it comes to whitening and getting rid of scars and marks, the most important thing is the concentration of ingredients. U could try the Vichy Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Essence. It's a highly concentrated serum with good amounts of vitamin c that lightens scars and evens out skin tone. It's RM160 for 30ml...u don't need a lot so 30ml can last a few months plus u only need to use once a day. Also try using a sunscreen in the day so that the vitamin c won't deteriorate and the scars won't get darker. Nowadays I use a sunscreen daily and my pimple scars are fading fast.

It's usually sales talk but also depends on the SA. Some are really experienced and can help u a lot while others r really blur and will only recommend u one range even though your skin ain't suited for it.

I'm currently using Biotherm T Pur and Aquapower range and the I can see the results after just a week.

Thinking to try use BB Cream, u guys any experiences.

AFAIK BBC can work multifunctional including sunscreen and pores concealer, that's why i would like to give it a try

btw, my cleanser and scrubs are running out, dunno which should i purchase, Biotherm or Laneige
*
I've not used BB cream before and I don't intend to.

Recently I tried a few samples of the Biotherm Homme Aquapower Cleansing Gel and it's really good IMO. Just a small amount and it produces thick foam...I've even used it as shaving foam. Expensive though, 125ml for RM90 but it will last a long time as only a small amount is needed every wash. I hear the Biotherm Homme Facial Exfoliator is quite good too.

Laneige cleansers are good too but I probably got tired of the scent so that's why I didn't repurchase.

Thanks. Will check out those product you mention. THat Vichy, where can I find it?
*
Guardian, Watsons and Caring all carry Vichy products. But only the bigger outlets (usually at shopping malls) will carry the full range of Vichy products. The smaller outlets usually have sample packs that costs around RM34.

I'm using Neutrogena one, as recommended on the thread Acne.
What toner would be helpful?
*
I've tried the Neutrogena moisturizer b4 and hated it...it just feels weird on the face.

A hydrating toner like Shiseido Men Hydrating Lotion or Biotherm Homme Aquapower should be ok. It really depends on your budget.

how about himalaya products? anyone tried it before? any solution for heat rash at face? thx.
*
I've tried the Neem Face Pack and A-N-P Cream.

Neem Face Pack is alright but the texture of the mask is rough so it can be a little painful when applying. Some ppl complained about the smell but I think it smells nice. It did help with the pimples a bit but TBH I still prefer normal clay masks.

A-N-P cream is just horrible. IT didn't really help with the pimples and worse of all is the texture. It really feels like u r applying anti-perspirant to the face. Very hard to wash off too and makes the face tacky.

For the heat rash u could try Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray. It's quite good in soothing the face.
