I am currently under Retina A medication for my pores.  I like it.  It is so effective.  However, dr has advised me not to expose myself under the sun while using it.

Went for skin checkup and was told that my skin has turned to a sensitive skin, i suppose due to Retina A which peels off my face's dead skin.  So as of now, i only apply at night as opposed to previously apply 2 times per day.

You should invest in a good sunblock even if u r using Retin A once a day. I overapplied the last time i used Retin A and my skin suffered badly.

Can we get Retin A without a prescription ?

Are you a licensed dermatologist ?

If No then your "professional advise" is as good as my mum's.

You can try Clinique http://www.clinique.com/

Click on the "My Skin Consultation" tab and proceed. Careful the sound volume on the website is very high !

It's not 100% effective though but can serve as a rough guide. You could also pop by a Clinique counter and they will so a skin analysis for you. Actually most high end brand consultants can do it for you for free. Just be nice to them and u might even get some free samples biggrin.gif

Each person's skin type is different from the other so I guess there is no "best" product in the market. The only way is through trial and error I guess...

I am using Biotherm at the moment (cleanser + toner + moisturiser). The one endorsed by Takashi. This is the best for me so far. Not that I had problematic skin before this. A lil' oily and and some blemishes occassionally but after using Biotherm, my skin improved pretty much. It is not as oily as before and the blemishes cleared. Although it costs more than off-the-shelf brands, it lasts much, much longer (dunno why), and is more effective (in my opinion).

I was using Loreal for men before Biotherm and I personally don't think it is that good. But it's just my opinion. Maybe it is not suitable for my skin. The moisturiser made my face oily after application and my skin did not improve. The moisturiser finished just after 3 months. I have been using Biotherm for more than 6 months now and there is about half left.

And no, I am not a spokesperson for Biotherm. Just another consumer giving an honest opinion. It's not just Biotherm, but I personally believe that the more expensive brands like Dermalogica, Clinique, and the likes are way better than off-the-shelf brands.

My tip to clean your face with a cleanser
Wash your face twice each time!
Wash your face with a small amount of cleanser then rinse off. After that, use the normal amount to wash the second time. Your face will feel much cleaner.
This works for me, but no guarantee that it will work for you icon_idea.gif

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing.

I am quite interested in the T Pure Toner actually. Does it leave any kind of residue on the face ? The last time I tried it at the counter I didn't really like the smell.

The toner is a clear liquid just like water but with a thicker consistency. It doesn't leave any residue.
For me the smell is ok. It just smells a little, but it's not a bad smell.

Alright

How long does the 200ml bottle last u ? How much do u use ?

My current toner (Clinique Scruffing Lotion 200ml) lasts me about 4-5 months and is slightly cheaper than the T Pur toner. I'm thinking of switching to T Pur but I just want to know if it can last as long as my Clinique. The thick consistency makes me assume that I will have to squeeze out more onto the cotton pad.
