idk, out of all the pimple treatment products ive used, i cant say with assurance that they indeed work for me, i've never really consulted a dermatologist before, the only ones ive seen are those personnel in guardian who recommends some sort of product but idk, im made to believe these pimple treatment products are all crap..

For those having problems with acne.. please read this thread.

Its very informative. Follow the regimen in the first page. I highly recommend it. A lot of people have tried this regimen and it works.. Including me. Expensive cosmetics does not necessarily do the job, learn to read the labels. smile.gif

cool, im gonna try it too.. i guess the one thing i learned from that thread is to stick to one cleanser first.. once the pimples/acne have cleared, then we can add/remove one variable at a time.. oh and not to cleanse our faces too often..

Added on September 22, 2009, 4:44 pmbut one thing, so once we apply the pimple cream, then apply the moisturizer on top of it right away? or do we wait for some time? and then for the moisturizer, apply all over face or just on the pimples?

I would apply a generous amount of benzoyl peroxide all over my face.. wait a couple minutes for it to dry and then apply moisturizer.

Moisturizer is only to protect ur skin from the elements, especially from the sun. Preferably u should get a non-alcoholic moisturizer with good amount of spf protection. Its an option, wear it went u go out. Apply a thin layer only.. u dont want to clog the pores.

The key to this regimen is to keep it simple. You dont want to add unnecessary chemical/cosmetic stuff on your face. Benzoyl Peroxide kills acne.. apparently people have known this for a while. But they apply the BP wrongly. That's why breakout still happen.

For my personal experience that,
you have to using a suitable cleanser.
Guy normally have oily skin, scrub cleanser is good for daily use.
If got not really serius pimple or acne problems,
Tea Tree Oil is good for that.
Because some products like Oxy, somehow, it 'burn' your skin surface, to make it dry(black, sometimes) and tear off after few days(weeks, may say!)..
Now i prefer to use anti aging products, including SPF 25, also gel type moisturizer to 'matt' your skin and firm it up!
Dont forget, lip balm !

I dont know whether you guy using some foudation to conceal your ance or whatsoever...
But BB Cream is the top choice now,
it doesnt appear like a makeup or cosmetics,
but it really make our guys skin more flawless, and energy looks!
Cheers!

Another good medication for more severe acne is Retin-A. I'm not sure whether it's available over the counter but when i used it years ago it was. Retin-A is very strong and it actually makes the skin on your face peel. Once i had a pimple near the side of my mouth and i applied some Retin-A there...2 nights later that part of the mouth started to dry up real bad and started to bleed. Not a happy experience. If u guys do decide to use Retin-A remember to use moiturizer and sunscreen...it's absolutely vital.

Oxy killed my face once. I will advice anyone to avoid it, especially Oxy 10. Even Oxy 5 with 5% B.P is way to harsh for our skin. Oxy not too effective against acne. If you going for this product, be sure that you have pimple and not acne.

use oxy cleanser + powder lotion (last time ppl use powder lotion to maintain smooth skin) + moisturizer....

dont use the pimple cream..B.P is very strong..only recommend to use 5%..

but those who sensitive skins better not use B.P products..

Please dont use Oxy. Its too harsh.. to prevent acne, the amount of Benzoyl Peroxide does not matter..its a marketing gimmick that they provide u with 5%, 10% strength. Instead, use 2.5% strength BP cream like PanOxyl and Neutrogena On-the-spot. Its works just as good as 10% BP cream..and its easier on the skin.

Not as good as 10% BP. It a lot better. From my experience , the 10% and 5% BP burn my skin and make my skin become sensitive. I use Oxy for around 6 months, and after 6 months, my face so reddish and pimple keep popping up. So i invest more on higher end product such as SK2 ,Kose and end up i have to consult dr.nathan .

Try investing some money in a more expensive razor. Try wet shaving instead of using a electric shaver.

If u want that really clean look u see on tv, try shaving against the grain. But beware though as shaving against the grain can irritate your skin so a good after shave is important. I used to shave against the grain but it gave me a lot of razor bumps.

Laser ??

Dude some guys out there will sell their soul to the devil to be able to grow a decent looking beard LOL

But to each his own. I have heard of lasers but i personally feel it's too drastic.

I am currently under Retina A medication for my pores. I like it. It is so effective. However, dr has advised me not to expose myself under the sun while using it.

Went for skin checkup and was told that my skin has turned to a sensitive skin, i suppose due to Retina A which peels off my face's dead skin. So as of now, i only apply at night as opposed to previously apply 2 times per day.
