I've been wondering are there any other brand that can be compared to Soundstream in terms of performance; SQL wise. And of course about the same price range? Cause I don't think only entry-level Soundstreams like PCC6 or XTC6 or Picasso PWLs are the top line at the price range of rm300-rm400(6.5")
rm600-700(12" sub).

haha.

the world is huge my friend. Take DLS for instance, they produces great amps and speakers/subs, can be applied to both SQ and SPL.
To really compare with Soundstream, i'll take JBL, they have the cheap stuffs like GT5 series and the hi end stuffs like the GTi series, GTi series definitely pounds SS speakers easily in all aspect, sub-wise, JBL GTi is oso a bomb. Amp wise, SS got human reign and JBL got the Crown series. both are monsters.

SQL with RM400 component?

pegasus PG65 and ameron AM65. listen to both set before. i can say it sound better than fake or entry level soundstream.

RM600 sub can try 2nd hand JL 12W3V2 or pegasus PG1250

seriously, with such budget we cant call it SPL or SQ. can just say it is normal speaker for normal listening wink.gif

Soundstream Spider Logo is so cool which almost made me become a soundstream fan before. But after listen to other product i would prefer to go for Ameron or pegasus for entry level ICE.

by price is the best way to define entry lvl or not, by sound quality defines the price/performance ratio. smile.gif

well... some over priced things are "entry level" while some cheap stuff are good stuff.... so i think that by price range to determine what a audio setup would perform is just so so unfair...

i know some things are overpriced, to me, they belong to a certain price range, but their price to performance ratio for that certain price range sux, u dun get wat u paid for, simple. entry lvl itself oso got gud, moderate and bad ratings la if we really wanna rate it, same goes for hi end. for example, lets take 4ch amps, in this case, Helix XMax vs Soundstream lil' wonder vs DLS CA450... all are entry lvl of a similar price range(in my place). in terms of power, both 4x60W rms except for DLS is 4x50W, in terms of SQ, i will bet my money on either Helix or DLS... cos the price/performance ratio are better than lil' wonder. i hope u understand my explanation... smile.gif Happy New Year!!!
