[WTASK] Regarding Iphone SG warranty, please help me before i buy.. thanks

Hi guys... Some 1 offer his 2 months old iphone 3g SG SET for RM 2k... so when i ask regarding the warranty and all, he say he cant provide me receipt for it cos something happen to it... but he called singtel and they say that "JUST BRING THE PHONE AND BOX THERE & THEY WILL STILL ACCEPT MY PHONE AS THEY WILL SCAN MY SERIAL NUMBER FROM MY PHONE" is it true guys?? and is it advisable to buy a phone without receipt? thanks for ur help guys..

they are very peculiar about the receipt unless you can prove the phone number the contract is tied to.

Will suggest to buy the Singtel iphone with receipt .
Sets Without receipt taking risk as like what chinamobile said
1) Might not able to claim the warranty. Cos they required to see the prove of purchase..
2) Stolen or pick up set.
