generally speaking, which setup is better???

slightly lower clock (eg 3.04GHz), faster HT (> 1GHz), faster RAM (> 400MHz)

OR

slightly faster clock, slower HT, slower RAM (like wat i did for SuperPi in the ss 1 page before)

juz updated the BIOS of my mobo...

according to Biostar, this new BIOS support 45nm CPU... but one look inside and i found at least 1 difference...

in the menu of SidePort, the speed of the RAM has changed to 400MHz, 500MHz and 533MHz, from the previous 400MHz, 533MHz and 667MHz...

in the old BIOS, using 533MHz will produce artefacts even at POST...

time for some OC... brows.gif

ya, i think BIOS is more fun to play around with too...

anyway, wanna ask other 790GX users, preferably those using Biostar ones...

i tried to oc the SidePort... the one on my mobo is DDR2 800MHz... i tried running 1000MHz and 1066MHz, both are fine as lon as i dun oc the CPU... once the CPU is oc-ed, artefact will appear at both 1000MHz and 1066MHz for the SidePort...

do u all experience the same thing???

guys, what is AMD Virtualization for?

found it on bios..
*
hardware acceleration for virtual PC

Intel has sth similar called none other than Intel Virtualization technology...

my very crude job of addling some small heatsinks on the mosfet and SidePort

went back to HK for holiday back then...

i was window shopping in the computer center there (lowyat equivalent), then bumped into this shop that sells all sorts of hardware accessories, u name it, they ve got it... like RAM heasink, USB charger, cheapo keyboard and mouse, mouse pads, LED tubes, laptop adapters, ATi and Nvidia heasink (lol), blah blah blah...

still remember i bought quite a lot of stuff that time... some RAM heatsink (aluminium ones, although there's copper ones as well), this Video RAM heatsink and some other stuff...

everytime i go back HK confirm will drop by the shop to look for some fun stuff...
