Im back and i said good bye to dual core = 2008, and hello to my new Phenom Quad = 2009. I just buy this processor just now but dunno about the reviews.. what do u all suggest? Its a Phenom Quad 9550. B3 stepping... anyone knows how far can this overclock?

ok.. 2.8 seems fair.. but im kinda slow into upgrading things but 1 thing i noticed. loading the bios screen it only takes a blink of an eye and loading windows just need to run the bar (green thing) 2 times den into windows compare to my old X2 processor.. hehehe.. Phenom squad reporting.. lol... i try my luck to go higher than 2.8Ghz.. wait for a decent mobo with AMD790 chipset.. den can evolve lor my spider platform

Hi.. i just started to overclock my Phenom 9550 Quad from 2.2Ghz to 2.4Ghz and run Prime 95.. stable as a horse.. But i dun dare to go over cuz my mobo is frens 1.. using cheap mobo at the meanwhile while waiting for my own ABIT AX-78. Here are the results.. hehe...



Do not belive the CPU temp as the fan is unplugged n disable cuz im using WC.. hehe

can anyone use phenom 9550 guide me to overclock this processor plz.. hehehe...

Thank u bro ah_khoo... help apreciated.. ill try to do the same thing but funny. i cant seem to find the Vcore adjust in the bios menu. And my ht seems to be at 1000MHZ.. this mobo supoprts AM2+ but reads 2000MHZ HT. is there any potential to overclock this mobo to ur speed of 2.8Ghz?

Ya... im not using AX78 cuz sent RMA... now using M2N-VM DVI @ Chapalang mobo...

I made it to 2.5Ghz without even touching the VCore and it still stays cool at an average of 24~34c... Here are some pics.. trying step by step..

Added on January 4, 2009, 1:31 amBios lor... cant even flash.. when install vista BSOD comes out sometimes and say something about bios.. when i update the bios, it hang so gone lor... blank like usual.. stupiak my version of AX78.. RM270 gone like dat.. now investing on DFI mayb.. No way im hoing for asus.. i noe that asus is good for intel lar.. hehehe

ill make a 1 hour stress test.. dun worry... just my eyes cant stand it so i leave my pc for mayb more then an hour cuz wan sleep.. hehe

done.. 1 hour running Prime95.. no errors occured.. Here are the pics..

Anep, Try to put ur v-core to 1.5V (if not enuf the limit is 1.55v) and adjust the multiplier to 17X200 u can achived 3.4Ghz den jump the FSB to 208 x 17 = 3.5Ghz.. i tried it before and it works.. But not with a AX78 mobo la.. but u still can try n good luck..

ya... i buy at kuching... rm595.... mb only ma... last time use AX78 but rma den use chapalang mobo asus... now go for something high end....
