it depends on how u define stability. some are contented w/ spi, some use f@h, while some orthos freaks like me must have d system to be prime stable then only can be considered stable. u can use these tools to test for stability, they're provided @ d 1st page.  wink.gif

back to topic, after solvin d ram issue, now i'm hit by cf problem... gosh, non stop issue after i change psu... doh.gif

betcha guys never face this kinda problem... blink.gif

problem is everytime i enable cross fire feature in CCC, after shutdown/restart, my system is not able to detect d 2nd gfx card @ 2nd slot (d one in d middle). i've verified it thru:

- CCC > no cross fire x option in CCC
- gpuz > no 2nd card detected (drop down list one show one card)
- device manager > only one radeon 3800 series shown
- hw monitor > only one temperature of 3850 shown

before i was using silverstone zeus 750w psu & older version of catalyst (8.9 or 8.10), such problem never exist. but after i upgraded to antec quattro 850w (modular) & latest version of catalyst, such issue happened. after given some thoughts, i suspect these could be d reason(s):

- faulty cf bridge (i did many times of plugging & unplugging) > less likely as even if d bridge is spoilt hw monitor, device manage & other software still manage to detect d 2nd gfx card rite?
- psu connector(s) issue > less likely as well as i've tried w diff pci-e connectors on both cards @ diff slots (one @ a time) it works (quattro has 2 * 6-pins pci-e & 2 * 6 + 2 pci-e)
- driver issue > i've tried w catalyst 8.11 & 8.12, still no luck. will try catalyst 8.9 if it's necessary
- board issue (2nd pci-e slots that works intermittently in cf mode) > Could it be d board not providing enuf juice for 2nd gfx which seated on 2nd pci-e slot???
- gfx card issue, similar as MacClipper's case HERE???
- psu compatibility issue > i didn't face such problem b4 i switched to Antec Quattro 850W???


pls advise or give some inputs. I'm lost as I'm not sure whether it's psu, board or gfx problem... rclxub.gif

for stablility, do the test with either 1 software suggested, if hv any prob

got a similar case but his case is gfx can't be detected as solo card but in cf no problem. opposite of my case... rclxub.gif

Have u tried using driver cleaner then try use the older version catalyst? Maybe it's a prob with catalyst or whut not..
Very peculiar indeed.. To say ur psu haven't enuff juice i think it's more than enuff, just weird.. sweat.gif sweat.gif
