QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Jan 10 2009, 01:30 PM) You can try and repair first using the windows xp disk. You can use fixmbr and fixboot and see whether it helps you or not. If problem still persists, you have no other choice but to reformat. |

taken from bit-tech.net review
QUOTE We thought the 89W TDP should unlock some additional overclocking headroom, but it doesn't seem to have been the case. Turning on the Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) on the Asus M3A79-T, cranking up the voltage to 1.5V (slowly increasing from 1.45V) we managed to crank up the multiplier only and eke out just 3.1GHz stable which is somewhat disappointing as we were hoping for something nearer 3.5GHz. In contrast, the retail Intel E5200 hits 4GHz without even getting out of breath at just 1.4V. from OverClockersClub QUOTE As for overclocking, I did not get as much headroom from the Athlon X2 as I have with its quad-core counterpart, the Phenom X4 9850. With the Athlon X2, I was only able to get a 477MHz increase, whereas the Phenom X4 9850 I am able to get 700MHz+. This processor does have the unlocked "Black Edition" multiplier, however it does not like anything more that 15.5x stable, or any more than 205MHz as a bus speed. I even threw over 1.5 volts at it briefly, and still would not go any higher. Overall, this is a decent processor for those looking for a casual workstation computer, but if you are a hardcore enthusiast like the majority of readers looking at this review, you would be well off waiting for a faster quad-core CPU from Intel or AMD. these two conclusions really breaks my heart ..... later afraid i cant even get 3.2GHz with KUMA.... |
