Just one question before I proceed to explaining.
Are you pretending not to know or really don't know? This post has been edited by andyjyneo: Dec 24 2008, 02:19 AM |

QUOTE(faizpsp89 @ Dec 24 2008, 02:20 AM) Before you get flamed for being ignorant, you should really go and Google (FD2 and FD2 Type R) it 'cos there are a host of differences..(not exhaustive) a) engine b) brake system c) exhaust system d) suspension e) gearbox f) weight-lightening g) aerodynamically designed bodykit h) colour i) rims j) and the list goes on...... alot of things ler dude.....
cams, pistons, gearbox ratios, etc etc.... just coz it has the same engine code that doesnt mean its the same engine. it only means its using the same block. the block internals, head design, everything else around can be different.... and all those different things gives it the "Type R" status |

haih
ignorant fools if this was the old kev, you would have died from the flaming the K20A in the FD2R has more compression ratio and has exhaust lift timing, whereas the K20Z in the vanilla FD2 does not. power wise, K20A, 200+bhp on flywheel, K20Z, 160+. front suspension mounting is different bilstein shocks on the FD2R Brembo-sourced discs and calipers on FD2R chassis strengthening on the FD2R thicker front/rear ARB, iirc chassis reinforcement bars on FD2R, different meter cluster, Recaro halfbucket seats, different interior trim iconic championship white color with type-r rims on the outside and Bridgestone RE070A tyres compared to goodyear Ducaro GA. worth 200k? for the performance it gives, you betcha. |

QUOTE(sysh @ Dec 24 2008, 02:41 AM) Thank goodness we have new kev here..hehe! ask anymore stupid questions and ill have the resident type-RR make you breath his exhaust though his RS*R Magic. I do hope he doesn't ask anymore stupid questions.. we've placed everything on a silver platter for him QUOTE(J-Slade @ Dec 24 2008, 02:54 AM) nice replies guys... i got a feeling tho that a lot of Civic out there just put the type R exterior look but actually inside is all just the normal Civic 2.0 easy, FD2R has no sidemirror turn lights, front bumper + splitter difference, rear splitter and diffuser difference, and most importantly, the BREMBO brakes!!!no chrome lining against the doors, no chromed handles too. XD all thanks to our resident type-RR |

engine alone. too much diffrent.
the silver cover K20A in normal civic do not have vtec on their exhaust cam, using something similar to VTEC-E on their intake cam. one intake open smaller than the other to swirl intake air to promote low end torque and fuel economy. VTC up to 25 degree advance on intake cam similar to the red color K20A is god like. this is the best engine ever made by honda. it has VTEC on both intake and exhaust cam. the VTEC is similar to traditional VTEC which use a center lobe to engage a wild cam at 5800rpm. while VTC can advance the intake cam up to 50 degree. redline at 8500 and fuel cut at 8800rpm making 225hp |
