"triad", all you need is to do is READ and ASK. Read through the content in your Contract of Service (CoS). There should be a clause stipulated with the termination of employment/probationary period.
If you can't find it, just chalk it up to HR Department. It is as simple as that. Quite a typical routine procedure.

p.s: I would not disclose the notice period that you should serve and the payments' in lieu strictly because it varies from one company to another.
